Norpro Plastic Nylon Baster, 1 EA, Black

Does a great job of getting the turkey juice from the pan to make gravy with. Works as expected, doesn't leak. Cleaning is simple, as I pop off the top and put both pieces in the dish washer top rack. When clean, I snap back on and it's ready for the next use.

The media could not be loaded. The quality of this baster seems very good. The nylon tube should last years, like my previous ones did, and this silicone bulb seems to be very consistent thickness and is very pliable. Shouldn't harden and crack with age like old rubber ones did, or newer cheap plastic bulbs. Bulb to tube connection is tight and holds a vacuum. Graduations (quarter ounces on one side, ml by 5s on the other) are a bit hard to read unless the light is just right, but probably good for a younger person's eyes. I think this will be perfect for my needs, and I'm very happy with the quality.

Used on hot bacon grease and it work great. Didn't melt or crack like the last one I bought from Walmart that was made of plastic. This one is durable.

We used this at our first Thanksgiving in Poland. Our friends there hadn't seen one though our French friends eating with us, had. We ordered this and gave it to our Polish guests as a gift the next time we saw them, and they loved it.7 years later, they asked us for another one and we sent it to them. They loved it, just as much.The Norpro brand is known there, it is just hard to get in certain places and can be pricey. Worked great for them for a long time. Holds up to dishwasher use (top rack), and handwashing at pretty high heat. The water there is high calc/mineral, which can stain, destroy or weaken many plastics, metals, utensils, the water pipes, appliances, and your clothing, and also wreaks havoc with you skin and hair. These were fine, over many years.

As best I can tell, the bulb really is made of silicone rubber. My old baster failed when the natural rubber bulb cracked from age. When the bulb on this baster is installed as pictured in the listing, it can leak very slowly. It could probably be stopped by putting a rubber band around it, but I tried pushing the bulb farther on over and past the stop ring that is supposed to limit how far you push the bulb on. In that configuration, there is no leak at all. I might have been tempted to save a few bucks by buying one of the unbranded clones, but I didn't find one that specified both silicone rubber bulb and nylon (or other high temperature material) tube. The savings isn't enough to offset the risk of getting a lousy product. I already have plenty of cleaning brushes, so including a brush wasn't much of an advantage to me. I'm happy with this.

This baster is perfect for cleaning up the fish tank debris! it does not drip out after suctioning up the bottom of the tank and disposing of the waste. Very pleased with its functioning as a fish tank cleaner! I'm sure using it as a turkey baster would be just perfect too! But, for me, it's a fish tank vacuum!
