Used for 1st time & noticed a smell coming from mug when drinking beverage. Will this burn off eventually?

Yes. Eventually goes away. Its the only mug warmer that stands up to continual daily, all day use, and keeps even the thickest mugs/ contents warm, so I keep purchasing.

Does the burning plastic smell eventually burn off? This warmer keeps my coffee nice and hot but the smell is really annoying.

My wife got one for Mother’s Day, 4 weeks ago. Ever since I’ve been smelling the hot plastic. I finally tracked it down to this cup warmer and immediately unplugged it. Weird thing is, I’m only around it when it’s not in use. Nonetheless , that is the smell of hot wire(s) and I’m not taking any chances.

yep, that's why I bought it. The mickey mug is a 'normal' size mug and its a bit deceiving in the picture. Works great! I might get another
