*****Warning*****
So easy to install! My goodness I was surprised. Highly recommend this product. Works great. This was my initial review. However ***WARNING*** I purchased this unit on September 16, 2014 and I noted in my calendar that I installed them on October 5. The main unit quit working on September 26, 2015. The company says it is out of its 12 month warranty. I think the support for this item could be so much better than it is. I am very disappointed as I now have to replace this unit that cost over $400. I cannot recommend the unit at all.

Very Disappointing
Pro's: Good recording, Decent picture, Ease of use. Easy to set up, When the electricity goes out and comes back on, the system comes back up by itself (the reason I went with it, over the Lorax).Power cords for the cameras are long.Con's: Horrible, HORRIBLE reception, DVR keeps losing reception with cameras. I have the DVR in the kitchen and it is NO MORE THAN 28' from ANY camera, (vinyl siding, wood stud house). A far cry from the 200' claimed by the Mfg. I emailed Securityman and they replied with what I needed to buy to increase reception. Which I will do, because it's a $440 waste of money at this point.I have been wanting a system for years, but have been reluctant because I didn't want something that was unreliable.... Well, that's exactly what I got. If You are going to put all the cameras inside your home, it will work fine.

Good value with some limitation.
This system works well for the most part. It operates perfectly about 90% of the time. On occasion one of the cameras goes into a fit and will not transmit to the system. Not sure if this is camera or system problem. Sometimes will clear up by itself otherwise the cure is to turn off camera for 15 seconds. Another fix is to turn off and reset system. Placement of cameras and system monitor is important in establishing reliable communication. My unit and cameras are no further than 100 feet apart and transmit through brick walls. The system has been operational since July 4, 2014. Excellent daytime viewing somewhat limited with the infrared night vision. Still overall the quality is fairly good. I have an inexpensive 17" led TV plugged in and would recommend that for monitoring. The limitations I find more troubling is the sound system and the ability to program the camera monitoring sequence. You can do a 4 screen view or a single camera view that rotates from camera to camera. The single view allows sound monitoring but very often produces feedback. I would suggest buying 2 or 3 32GB memory cards and swapping them out when full. You will be able to see the recorded segments and save them to a computer if you wish. I was sufficiently pleased with the system to consider adding another unit and the addition of 4 more cameras for absolute total coverage. I contacted the Security Man company and asked if a second unit would interfere with the other given the wireless frequency transmission. They said no problem hence I purchased a second system. It worked as well as the first unit and set up simply however, the did interfere with each other. No matter what configuration or placement I tried each unit kept cancelling out transmission from other cameras. Unfortunately I had to return the second purchase for that reason. Overall, for the price am reasonably pleased with the operation. I use it for both security and watching the nighttime critters in the neighborhood. Fox, skunk, possum and so on.This is an update on the Securityman camera system. July 4, 2015.The system has been operational for one year and I would like to confirm the original review remains validated. The system is still operational and is mounted in an outside environment. The cameras are all underneath an overhang; however they are exposed to the weather and outside temperature fluctuations. One aspect regarding the troubling occasional operational glitch is they seem less troublesome in the colder months. Would still give it a 3 ½ to 4 star rating.Update, still working and I purchased this in 2014. Pretty much the same as original review.
