After the Accident (Chinese Breeze Graded Reader Series, Level 2: 500-Word Level) Paperback – Audiobook, March 31, 2010

I love these Chinese Breeze books. I've read levels 1 & 2 because they're available for Kindle, and I hope the other levels are made available soon.The stories are exceptionally good, even exciting and touching at times, which is saying *a lot* for language-learning materials. Thanks to the controlled vocabulary, you can enjoy an engaging story in Chinese without having to stop and check the dictionary, as is invariably the case when reading authentic materials. I dare say that even intermediate or advanced learners of Chinese will have fun reading the level 1 & 2 books, even though the circumlocution can be a bit tedious.One shortcoming is that the vocabulary glosses do not have a pinyin pronunciation guide. This is a real flaw that I hope the publishers will correct if/when they release subsequent levels in Kindle format.I am copying this review on each of the Kindle books in levels 1 & 2.

Chinese Breeze is a fun and engaging series of intermediate level Chinese reading books for language students. The grammar and vocabulary is simple enough that intermediate readers can smoothly follow and enjoy the stories. The stories themselves are diverse -- with modern romance and intrigue, to historical tales, to touching family stories. I think this a good series, and great for students to practice reading skills in abundance. I would recommend the entire Chinese Breeze series to any student of Chinese.

Good for learning Chinese at a beginner level. Helpful vocabulary and grammar tips are provided inside the book. Can't wait for levels 3 and 4!

The story is well written and interesting. However, none of the extra vocabulary have pinyin. This wouldn't be a problem except that the kindle app's built in Chinese dictionary doesn't have pinyin for words with more than one character. Additionally, none of the text can be copied to the clipboard making adding unknown words to a flash card app a very manual process of copying by hand. While the content of the book is good, the publisher has totally missed the point of an ebook.

These books are great for those of us learning to read Chinese.Other Kindle books in Chinese have to be converted to text using third party software, although amazon is hopefully working on this. Kindle books should be legible on Kindle devices, right?The Chinese Breeze series, however, is ready to go on the kindle. Just download and read.

"Look Inside" and Kindle Sample preview both only contain title page and IBSN# info page, no actual example of the text! I have the hardcopies of most of these books, but I was interested in the ebook versions. But want to be sure the text is readable in the Kindle Chinese font, and that the text is rendered as text (searchable and able to modify size and line spacing, etc.) and not as an image of the printed page. This preview is worthless for any intent or purpose. Bai tuo!

I love the series, but this particular book is pretty boring. Get Secrets of a Computer Company instead.

Now at intermediate level of Mandarin learning, I really appreciate this reader series. This story is a modern setting with useful vocabulary.

Al ser el 2º nivel esperaba que hubiera un salto sustancial a los libros de nivel 1. Apenas hay un aumento en la dificultad. Aún así me costó unos 6 euros, lo cual es casi la tercera parte que en otras tiendas como en la Casa del libro y por tanto a ese precio sí recomiendo su compra. En caso contrario yo creo que pasaría al siguiente nivel. No se si el resto de libros de nivel 2 son como este.
