PattieWack Mini Pom-Pom Maker 5"X3", Makes 5 Sizes: .5", 1", 1.5", 2" & 2.5"

This pom pom maker works okay. I'm making a pom-pom rug and thought this would be invaluable for creating the hundreds of pom-poms I need. However, it is so big and awkward that as I wrap yarn around it 100 times (yes I count each and every one) it smacks off of my arm. If I don't get into a rhythm, I get very frustrated with it. Also, once you wrap the yarn around the pattiewack, you have to slide the yarn down to a narrower part in order to tie the string around the center tight enough that the yarn doesn't fall out. You also cannot cut the yarn on the ends because it is wrapped so tightly. It helps if you slide the yarn down the pattiewack to a narrower part in order to cut, too. I could not get my scissors between the yarn and the pattiewack otherwise.

This item is really good in theory but it has a fatal flaw that cannot be overcome. The sides are so slippery that and you're rolling your yarn around the designated area it slips off over and over again. I wish the design have a tiny piece of plastic jetting out at the top of each wrapping area to make sure the yarn stayed put. I may try putting a very thin layer of hot glue on the edges and see if that prevents the yarn from slipping -otherwise this tool is completely useless
