Worth the price for quality, comfort, and durability for my achy-breaky feet
I bought these Vionic Wave toe-post sandals in October, 2020. I wore them in sand and on ceramic tile when I lived on the beach and on concrete and on laminate floors when I moved to the city. These have been my go-to footwear for around the house except on cold days. At 190 lbs., I gave these shoes a workout. I absolutely loved them. The orthotic soles soothed my feet. Each time I slipped these on, the comforting way they fit my feet and supported my arches made me grin. I have balance problems and plantar fasciitis and have had heel spurs. The solid, non-slip bottoms have allowed me to walk with confidence despite these being flip flop style. (I cannot wear cheap flip-flops because they slip and then I fall.) Cons: With daily use in sand, the front edges that stick out beyond my toes did fade slightly after a couple of years. But I consider this a minor deficit. The toe post finally broke yesterday (June, 2025) when I caught my foot on a heavy box, 4 and a half years after purchase. The tread is still in excellent shape, so I plan on getting these repaired and keep them out of landfill. They feel too good to let go. Yes, Vionics cost more, but their quality, comfort, and durability make them worth the price.

Relief and Support
Fractured my ankle a year after also having contracted plantar fasciitis while walking barefoot upstairs while carrying a safe all by myself. Yeah, I added that bit just so that I can stop any of you from ever doing that very stupid stunt. Should be part two of "never run with scissors." Point is, that foot was in terrible shape, undergoing intense physiotherapy, but now it was time to lose the boot and walk. Actually I was deriving much comfort from two weeks in my orthotics-inside-ON-brand-running-shoe. But then it was time to go back to the tropics and there was no way I was going to walk around in sneakers every day. Vionic Unisex thong sandal is recommended online in YouTube videos by a physiotherapist who I have come to trust. I have now been wearing mine every single day for two months and they feel great. Backs up my physiotherapy results (either after I exercise or after I see my physio here) with the comfort I expect right after a session. Pretty good arch support. I have high arches and might actually prefer another couple mm increase in elevation there, but fact is, my feet feel good in these. Comfortable from first wearing. No process of agony getting used to the fabric or anything. I'll stick on a pair of other sandals to take a shower in, and I notice the difference right away. These are comfy. I really do wear them all day long. Cons: if these get wet, it takes hours to dry them. I mean, stick 'em by the dehumidifier or in the noonday sun and it still TAKES HOURS to dry the water out of the strap material. Runs a tad wide. I wear a women's 8 in most shoes, but I've been mostly barefoot for the last 20 years and so my feet have widened quite a bit. I find the W8/M7 fine for my splayed feet, but I have to wonder what people with narrower, more normal feet might have to say about the fit. Can't beat the value for money. I was able to buy during one of those drops in price. Even as I write this review, when the price sits at $37... a very fair price for these.

Great flip flops for people with aching feet.
Updated 9/20/19: I still have these flip flops and I have to upgrade them from 4 to 5 stars. The foot-bed has remained resilient and I wore them all summer...like all day, everyday. The the bottoms are wearing like iron too, pretty much no change since I bought them. Really, just awesome foot saving sandals! Thanks Mom! I have plantar fasciitis and was excited to give these orthotic flip flops are try. My Mom mentioned Vionics to me as she has heard great thing about them and bought me a pair as a gift. Once they arrived I tried them on and was surprised by the very high arch, which is what I need, and much heel padding. They fit good and the color and craftsmanship were good. I was a happy camper After having them for a little while now I can say they help my feet. I have worn them daily pretty much since they arrived and they are holding up well, with my only gripe being that the padding is starting to compress which is -1 star ( I have given the star back, they are still going strong 9/2019). I was hoping they would be a stiffer material and hold up to constant use, but they do seem to be compressing a bit (didn't compress anymore after the initial break-in. Do it, they are awesome sandals 9/2019). To offset this I have bought other orthotics to help offload the full time work these sandals have been doing and they have recovered mostly from compression and still serve fine. All in a great sandal for people who want summer time relief for their aching feet so you can enjoy yourself!

Whatโs in a Vionic...
Iโve added a couple images. One is just look alone, the other two are showing performance. I first off want to say, I had a three day delay in receiving the shoes. No explanation, no details they were just late. Iโm not happy about that. The shoes are great, so far theyโre performing well. I read many reviews before deciding on this pair. I love that they have HIGH arch support itโs exactly what I needed. They do provide the support for my plantar fasciitis pain. I have two complaints that donโt interfere with my rating, I would appreciate these being narrower and softer on the skin. I imagine my foot discomfort is solely on the fact that I have not warn flip flops in a long time. Mostly tennis shoes, because my case is severe. My foot pad is a tad raw. My last comment is, there is absolutely something to be said about the Birkenstock. I love the support those provide as well as the ease of walking and standing without thought, but theyโre so NOT stylish. I would like to add that these shoes do slide below the foot not allowing support 100% of the time. That being said, I donโt have an issue with simply taking note of my foot placement as I walk or stand, so I do to ensure full support. I would definitely buy these again because theyโre supportive, water proof as well as cute.

Great for Plantar Fasciitis in Wide Size Range
Iโve been suffering with plantar fasciitis for close to a year now and have done everything short of submitting to going under the knife. The most relief Iโve experienced came from my first cortisone shot but was unfortunately short lived and subsequent shots bit nearly as effective. For me, someone who would prefer to be barefoot 24/7 if possible, the most difficult adjustment has been the constant wearing of tennis shoes (I abhor any kind of closed toe shoe - if foot claustrophobia was a thing Iโd definitely be diagnosed as being afflicted with such a malady)... A couple months ago as we were getting ready for our annual family vacation my mom happened to come across an article about Vionic shoes and how they were designed to help people with plantar fasciitis, (among other foot maladies). AND they came in my size... Did I forget to mention that I am currently wearing a womenโs size 12, (my mom was right when she told me my feet would โgrowโ half a size for each baby I had- fair warning Paris Hilton), with a wide width due to almost consistent edema problems in my lower legs from a heart issue)... Needless to say itโs been difficult finding tennis shoes that meet all these requirements let alone anything else. So, we ordered these flip flops just to try them out before ordering the dress shoes or any other casual shoes I might need. And, I am ecstatic to say that these are the best fitting, most comfortable shoes Iโve put on my feet since buying my new balance tennis shoes following my plantar fasciitis diagnosis. Itโs so unbelievably freeing to finally be able to wear open toed shoes once again - without having to worry about how much pain Iโll be in at the end of the day because they fit correctly and completely support my arch alleviating my plantar fasciitis issues. I will definitely be ordering more. They may be a little on the expensive side but worth more than every penny given how much the health of my feet effect every part of me & my life.

These run BIG but are my favs!!
These are my new go to comfy flip flops! I have a lot of arch pain normally but not with these!! I had been suffering through years and years of pain my my feet and I never took the time to invest in my shoes! Like many people who live in warmer climates I was addicted to my flip flops. And even worse I was ALWAYS walking around bare foot. After finally meeting with a foot doctor this year I learned that being in flip flops and barefoot is the WORST thing I could do for my feet. Now I wasn't ready to wear sneakers with custom orthotic insoles just yet, so I did the next best thing and scoured the internet for supportive flip flops! Well it didn't take me long to find the Orthoheel brand Vionic sandals. They had so many varieties! Something for everyone! I own 3 pairs and these tun the biggest. After wearing these around the house and outside for a few days my foot pain improved dramatically! The first day or so there was a bit of a breaking in period... a little discomfort but it was worth it! I haven't even been back to the foot dr in months! And he wanted to charge me hundreds of $$$ for the insole and I wouldn't be able to even wear my beloved flip flops! I can't say enough about these! They were worth the price for upgrade the $5 flip flops I was used to wearing. After a few months of heavy use I haven't noticed any signs that they are falling apart at all but I do rotate between my 3 pairs. Soon I will be picking up more for sure!

Very high arch
Super hard and the arch is too high. I bought another pair of Vionic at my local shoe store and they fit way better. Amazon has gone to the dogs as far as shoe brands. Vionic is great but everything else is some foreign made "brand" that you never heard of before, and usually poor quality too.

Great sandals, with one annoying flaw.
These flip flops are nice and supportive, and fit really well. I am glad I listened to the reviews and ordered down. I am normally a women's 8.5-9 (I normally order up for the additions width because I have wide feet). I ordered these in a 7 and they are perfect. I really wish I could give these sandals 5 stars, because they are so nice and supportive. However, they have one downfall that I'm not happy about. All along the edges of the flip flop, there are tiny raised dots that rub on the bottoms/sides of my feet, particularly in the arch. If these little dots are a design feature, they were a terrible idea. If they are a byproduct of the manufacturing process, then I am disappointed in the quality for the price of these sandals. I did manage to remove the dots using a razor, so I don't feel them anymore and can wear the sandals comfortably. But I should not have to modify shoes that I paid this much for, hence the three stars. Update. A week in and I am a convert. These sandals are amazing. I have been suffering from plantar faciitis for months, and it is all but gone after a little over a week. Truly amazing. I updated my review from 3 starts to 5, and now I'm off to buy.all.the.orthaheels.

A true convert!
The Orthaheel flip flops are my 'go to' footwear for around the house in the winter and everywhere I go in every other season. I used to have significant problems with plantar fasciitis - lots of pain, especially in the morning. Since starting to use Orthaheel footwear, there is rarely a day that my feet give me a problem, and the few that I do have are usually when I've had to wear non-support shoes for an extended period. I do find, however, that the men's and the unisex products last significantly better than the prettier and more expensive women's products.

Received this product yesterday. The 0urter cover and the box was damaged badly. Not sure if this a usual thing. So far good, but too early to say how good the product is for my condition.
