I received the correct rod. I recommend looking at Penns website to cross reference the specs listed there with your purchase options on Amazon. For example if you're looking for the 30-80 bent butt boat rod like I purchased, you must choose the 2 piece rod. The single piece rod in the 30-80 is a conventional straight butt. I would have made the wrong choice without checking Penns specs.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I dislike that the bottom part of the handle is hard plastic and the butt of the rod doesn’t stay on. It actually left the factory not staying on but they sold it to me anyways. It’s a disappointment to say the least. The quality is what you would expect from a $50 rod. This one is just slightly too crumby for $100. I can’t believe it has a hard plastic handle. Lol.

If you are looking for a roller tipped rod.. THIS IS NOT IT even though the pictures show a roller tip AND the description reads "Feature both Fuji guides and Pac Bay rollers (Standup models)".Since NO stand up models are listed this feels like a bait and switch.. no pun intended. Are these descriptions and pictures not vetted?

Very long.....I probably would have purchased the shorter ones had I been paying attention. Easy for an adult to use but hard for a kid. They extend 20 ft!

Brought up around 50 fish on a trip with zero problems. Good for bottom fishing trolling and sitting into a fighting belt. It is my go to deep sea and trolling rod now.

Rod works great with Penn 6/0 vintage reel. In rough water, the rod is a little difficult to feel when the fish is on but that is offset with the power the rod has while bringing in that 44" halibut.

Got this gorgeous piece of fishing gear for Christmas. Loaded a new real with 80lb power pro and landed and nice 5' black tip shark in Florida with it. Very strong, looked a little flimsy at first but handle the fight wonderfully. Will defiantly buy more in the near future.

Before ordering I checked the model number shown to ensure I would be getting the right model, as there are several. The Penn Ally Extra Heavy MODEL # ALLBW80250C60DD comes only with roller guides. The rod I received had conventional guides. Unfortunately I did not pick up on this in time before the return period ran out. Now I'm stuck with them. If you order these, be sure you order and get the right model.

Revisen el modelo directamente en Penn, ya que no trae mango curvo ni guías de rodillos. Es una buena caña para el precio, sin embargo yo la regresé porqué llegó dañada.

Was under the impression that this rod had a roller tip and bottom Roller , received rod and no rollers at all . Overall rod looks strong
