Florence + the Machine: An Almighty Sound

On May 2nd of 2012, I lived the most amazing day of my life. I went to go see Florence + The Machine live for the very first time. That day will never be forgotten. It was simply the best performance I have ever witnessed. The venue was small and everyone was standing, but the energy was palpable. We all danced and jumped to all the songs. When she played The Dog Days everything disappeared, all the problems, the headaches, the sadness. Nothing existed but myself and my happiness.In the end, I walked out of the venue speechless and with a soar throat. Any Florence + The Machine fan should get this book. It's amazing. It has great info and pictures of our beloved goddess. Florence + The Machine changed the way I look at music and it's way better than the generic crap that people listen to these days. Pick this book up!!!

I love Florence as much or more than the next fan, but this book was just bad quality. It is always nice to learn more about her and what inspired her, but this book felt very juvenile. I felt like all the info came from various online videos and interviews. I had seen all the pictures before. There was nothing exclusive to this book. I had a cringe on my face the entire time I read it.

Book came in condition described and arrived on time.Wasn't expecting so many price stickers on book. Fortunately they peeled off just fine.

This was a gift for my son's girlfriend. She loved it.

I recommend this book to any true Florence fan. It is very informative, entertaining & has great photos. Very pleased with this book!

This book is absolutely perfect if you love Florence + the Machine, or if you just love the lovely goddess herself, Florence Welch! Detailed biographical information of Florence and her life, BEAUTIFUL pictures to decorate the chapters, and a great cover make this book fantastic! You'll find out things that you never knew about ol' Florence! :) GREAT BUY!

This book is a definite for all Florence + The Machine fans. Florence Welch is just the best singer ever - and I go back 60 years of record buying, starting with the Everly Brothers and Sam Cooke in 1957. My daughter tells me that I am obsessed - but I love the voice most of all. The photos are well chosen and give a flavour of the live performances. The book is now five years old and an update - volume 2 - is needed.Here we have an Indie Rock Band with a resident Harp player. Read the book to discover more!

The best thing about the book is the cover. The inside was a different thing. I was so glad that the rest of the story was not written in the fairy-tale storytelling way as the introduction! The author clearly adores Miss Welch but one cannot expect much from a book written on the basis of tabloid articles as references (spotted a few mistakes myself). Great thing for (teenage) fans.

A very fascinating story. Reads well. Bought it for a Christmas present for a friend. The book was put into a plastic envelope and arrived really damaged which was very disappointing.
