100 Grams/4 oz of King Oyster Mushroom Spawn Mycelium to Grow Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms at Home or commercially - Use to Grow on Straw or Sawdust Blocks - G1 or G2 Spawn

The King Oyster spawn arrived fully flushed out and mature, a solid white mass that broke with a snap, then broke up further into separate grains. Within a day there were mycelial strands over an eighth inch long in the corn I inoculated with it, and it is expanding 3/16 inch daily in all directions at room temperature. It grows with enthusiasm.

Nothing ever grew. I wasted about 8 grow bag material with this and it took over 3 months after the entire process ending in disappointment..... im still waiting and hoping but looks like bad mycelium.....probably atretched out and old.

You can't wait long before using till it turns yellow and begins contaminating. I had this experience the first purchase, but a good problem to have. 😁

...but, as I am new to growing mushrooms, I sterilized some Scissors and cut off the green stuff. I planted within a few days the same as a different item (on the left). a week later, lots of green mold along with a lot of white. A couple of days later, it was half mold. It could have been me, as I have never done this before. I was careful and put the "clean" spawn in the substrate before opening the contaminated bag. But no issues with the Black Oysters on the left, which I just cut open today to "flower". This bag went into the worm composter. I was so looking forward to the king Oysters for my curries, but will have to start over. I gave an extra star because it could have been my process, but it clearly arrived contaminated.

Arrived quick and packaging looks good as well as the spawn! I'll definitely make a second purchase

They come in a zip lock bag, which, really?I have a sterile technique (ie, a lot of non-contaminated success) but I got mad contamination by doing a grain to grain transfer with these grains. I used about half the bag for 2 jars and both got wickedly contaminated.It gets a 2 stars because I used the remaining grain to colonize a shoebox and It has had moderate success. I haven't seen any primordia or pins but I'm hoping that something will colonize. If I get fruits I'll raise the stars but right now I am not satified with my order
