Good as others but less expensive
Works as designed. I applied mineral oil to the leather to soften and protect it.

Well Made, Large Capacity
This hammer holder has quite a large capacity -- I can't imagine any hammer that you would want to have hanging on your belt not fitting in the large metal loop. I bought this as an adjunct to a leather tool pouch (also from Custom Leathercraft). The tool pouch has a small hammer loop on it, but it's tight with a finish hammer and way too small for a framing hammer. Hence the outboard hammer holder. Luckily the two vertical slots in the leather back of this hammer holder were large enough that I could (barely) squeeze the quick-release snaps of the tool belt through them, in order to add this to the existing belt. In use, this hammer holder tends to move around so that it is directly behind my butt (with the tool pouch on my right side) but that's not horrible. I could slide this around to my left side if it became an issue. Because of the large size of the loop it is very easy to get the hammer in and out -- it does not catch or hang up on the loop. Not much else to say about this product -- it seems to be well made out of decent materials. If you need to add a larger hammer holder to an existing tool belt, this is not a bad way to do it.

Simple & Tough
Why bother with anything else? This is one of the cheapest versions for his on the market & gets the job done. Having a hammer loop separate from your tool bag is a massive advantage in reducing bulk & movability.

Decent
Great for the money, only thing I would recommend from the company is, don't staple the cardboard tag through the leather, in two places none the less, makes no since to do that.

Good hammer loop for a man's belt, or utility belt
Personally, I needed something to put my rock-hammer on, when prospecting. Being a 20-ounce hammer with a 6-inch rear pick, and a big thick handle like on a 3-lb hammer, I was worried it wouldn't fit when I ordered this. I was wrong. This loop fit my stanley ripping hammer, and also fit my rock hammer (fit the rock hammer almost perfectly). It is for bigger hammers, the leather is pretty tough, the loop appears to be stainless, and overall it has a good heft to it. The belt-slots are large, for a big belt, up to about 2.5-inches. If you do any gemstone hunting, or dry placer gold prospecting, you can't afford to be without this little tool. It really keeps you from always hunting your hammer, or not having it with you when you need it most. It also frees up your hands, as I like to walk with a walking staff when searching for garnets (snakes are never friendly, but are quite good at camouflage, and where I rock hunt, I think all the rattlers are broken, they never seem to rattle until AFTER they've nailed me on my snake garters). Do yourself a favor, and try adding 4-ounces to your belt - you'll be glad you did.

Barely rated for a 2 3/4" belt but good
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I got this along with a 2 3/4" belt for a costume that I am putting together. I got this in and was going to put some leather conditioner on it and noticed that the holes are a little smaller than they probably should be -- it felt almost too tight to move along the belt. I ended up cutting it on either end of the holes and it seems to have helped. Not that I want this to move around a lot but it just felt almost too tight to move to where I needed it. Hammer fits perfectly in the hook and feels secure. I like that the hook is metal so it's not likely to rip off or fall apart easily. Leather is decent thickness and very tough so I'm hoping the conditioner will soften it a bit. Looking forward to using it!

Definitely will get the job done
The flap that attaches to the belt is kinda flimsy we’ll see how well it does after a while but all in all nice buy for the price
