Between the soft foot bed and air compression, hands down the better boot!
The media could not be loaded. Came home from a second mid foot fusion surgery with the Dr. provided dreaded “black boot”. It has two rails up the side and a heavy plastic foot with five Velcro straps. My foot moved around and rested on my heel causing a pressure sore. The top of my foot (where the incisions are) had to lift the weight of the boot, and the sloppy fit caused excessive movement within the boot and nonstop pain when changing position. So I ordered this boot based on lots of positive reviews- and I’m telling you, the reviews don’t lie! I’m not going to lie and say my foot no longer hurts, but wow, what a HUGE difference a comfortable boot can make! There’s some rubberized material inside of the footbed, which makes a notable difference when resting the foot on it, and there are no reinforcements at the side of the mid foot (like the other boot which pressed into sutures on the side of my foot). It’s just one smooth, ventilated boot and the tall version makes the calf and shin support the weight of the boot, as opposed to the foot taking the weight of the boot. The hard shell that would sit on top of your foot and against the shin is removable, which I had to remove to keep the pressure off of the sutures but the boot is stable without it, but the removable shell provides extra protection to the foot if you can stand it. The boot has a fixed plastic toe guard that wraps up from the bottom of the boot so you aren’t completely exposed if you can’t tolerate the top piece. And the Icing on the cake is the pneumatic air pump that inflates the wrap inside the boot to support the calf and heel and aids in circulation (which really helped with the pressure sore on my heel). I even slipped accidentally and tried to catch myself from falling with my surgical foot. The boot dispersed the brunt of the weight into my entire foot and I don’t think I hurt myself…X-rays will tell. Speaking of slipping, It has a really nice non-slip rubber rocker sole which has helped me as I scoot up stairs on my rear end. The only con, (and I wish there were an option to avoid this) is that the inflation pump is on the top of the shin just below the knee. It makes for difficulty with the knee scooter. I don’t want to damage the inflator, so I’d love to see this boot with the pump somewhere else, even the back side would be better, but if I had to buy another boot, I’d absolutely buy this one again. Super grateful to have found this boot!

If you have to wear a boot, this is the one.
This is the 2nd boot I've worn. The first one was a mid high boot and was awful. I dreaded having to walk a step in it because it was flat bottom, gave me sores on my leg and poor design, despite it having a lot of 5 star reviews. This boot is the opposite. As comfortable as I could expect from a boot, it has a good pad on bottom so everyone can't hear you walking through the house, protected toe in the front so you don't pick up dirt and grass in the front of the boot if you had to walk outside, a contoured bottom so it feels more natural walking and plus my Achilles has felt so much better in this boot than the last.If you need a boot, this is the one. No need to continue your search.

Comfortable and well made
This was my first boot and I like it for the following reasons:1. It is comfortable: padding is soft and it has a nice shape2. It doesn't go all the way up to your knee3. It has adjustable air bladders4. Good foot and ankle supportI ended up returning it still, since I felt like walking with it hurt my severe ankle sprain with each step, but that could be because I just injured it and any walking would hurt. The uneven walking hurt my hips too, but that may be the nature of all boots. I ended up getting a figure 8, laced up ankle brace instead which was a lot more comfortable for me. If I get another foot/ankle injury though I will probably come back to this one.

Excellent walking boot, great customer service
I ordered this for a Level 2 ankle sprain. The doctor's office wanted to charge a little over 3 times the amount I paid for it here on Amazon. Exact same boot! Added 1 day shipping to my order and was good to go the following afternoon. The boot helps stabilize the ankle and offers custom cushioning on the heel or toes, depending on where you need it, thanks to a cushion pad in the boot. The straps secure it to your leg. There are even rubber outlets on either side that you can cut to give extra stretching room for a thicker calf, if this is a concern for you. I have not yet been able to put any weight when I walk in it, but the rocking motion the sole allows feels natural and comfortable.I had an issue with the original air pump. It was not pumping air into the hose connected to the ankle air pouch. After taking the mechanism (the black squeeze button) apart, I found out the air pump mechanism on the boot did not work, so I emailed the seller. They overnighted a new mechanism to me the same day I sent the email! Excellent response time, excellent customer service. Highly recommend the seller! One thing I will mention is the height of the boot. As with most walking boots, there is a height difference. My boot foot is about 2 inches higher than my good foot now (without shoes). I suggest getting a lift for your other foot for when you do start walking. Amazon has a lift called EvenUp, which offers customizable lift to help prevent hip and back issues while in the boot.
