Master Gardner 737 Frost Blanket

plant cover
I had earlier bought a similar item from Home Depot which turne dout to be a big disappointment since the item was a longish narrow sheeet. This item from Amazon turned out to be a real steal. It has a broad width, is very long and is of a thick material. I covered about 20 plant pots, lined up together in the front porch, and still had over half the roll left.It can be cut up into large squares and a tape threaded though the edge to make covers for large bushes.... though one will need a very large needle from the craft store for this project.

Save the hibiscus, save the herbs.
I live in the south so it doesn't get real cold here. I bought this to protect some herbs and a hibiscus. Temperatures went to the high20s and low 30s and this kept everything healthy. I did double wrap the hibiscus for the colder nights. We will see what happens if it gets even colder later in the winter. A nice feature is that the plants continued to grow and thrive even while covered.

Excellent product.
The "frost blanket" saved my plants from the severe weather last winter. Whatever I didn't cover barely survived. It also stopped the deer from destroying our trees we planted in the fall. The "blanket" material is well made so I saved it and will be able to use it again this fall. Excellent product.

Good, but very thin/light
These frost blankets were much lighter/thinner than I expected. For some reason I the local Lowes didn't stock frost blankets this year, and these were all I could find online. They seem to be working just fine I just wasn't comfortable with how thin they were, and I don't think they'll hold up as long as my other frost blankets did.For the price, it's still a good deal.

I like the fact that the blankets are extra long to cover a row of crops or flowers. The ones I've seen in stores were only 3" by 6" and wouldn't cover much of anything. These blankets are a great buy.

I wish I would have taken the time to purchase ...
I wish I would have taken the time to purchase this product years ago. It has saved all my succulents and delicate plants thus far through the frost

Worst frost blanket ever.
I live in Florida and thought these frost blankets would come in handy when we get a couple of frost days . Well needless to say after getting our first frost and using this product it had no protection what so ever. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It worked as explained. Not sure of its value though.
There's a review for this where someone was trying to use it to save their fruit trees, I think. The plants died in a sudden freeze with 2 layers of this wrapped around them. I thought it was due to a lack of air space between the plants. Blankets work best without plant to material contact. I bought it and put it on hoops (probably TOO tall) over my plants. They survived, but it did not greatly help their growth. I put them in the ground just a couple weeks early and have used this since February. All of the plants survived, but my neighbor planted after me and has just as good results.I do use it for shading and to keep birds off of the netted plants. It gets hot here and this does seem to help with excessive sun and evaporation loss. I need to figure out a better hoop system, with better clips if i want to use this to hold in heat though. It is thin, perfect for our sub tropical weather mostly. But not for hard freezes, and not unless you apply it correctly. It arrived super quick, as advertised, for a very good price. So I am giving it four stars. I would have given it five stars, but it isn't perfect and it really couldn't help me much as far as holding in the grounds heat. Wish there was a way to give it 4.5 stars....
