Royal Robbins Women's Discovery Skort

This is a terrific skirt for travel when you might be doing some hiking or climbing. I have a green one for hiking in summer. This black one is for travel as it goes with all my black travel clothes as a skirt, PLUS can be used as shorts. I don't think of it as a "skort", as it is a skirt with shorts underneath. This is better, as it really looks like a short skirt. It has a small zipper pocket in the back. Ok for a credit card, a $20 bill, or a key. A lipstick would be too big a bulge. I gave it 4 stars as it is a polyester fabric and has a swishy sound, and it does have a slight pucker at end of back zipper. But nothing bad! And it washes in the sink and dries overnight and looks fine. I usually wear a size 4 and am 5'4" and 120lbs. But I bought a size 6 so it would be looser for hiking. It isn't. It fits like a size 4, but is still comfortable. I would buy this again.

I love this material and the shape of the skort. I forgot that I really need to buy petite length in skirts as well as pants, but I am keeping it. It is just a little longer than I wanted. I am glad that I went with a size larger than normal because it did run a little small. I am going to look for more of this brand I love buying from enraptures such as these folks I never had heard of Royal Robbins before my search. I want to see how it wears before I buy another. I hate clothing that looks good before it is washed but like crap after its gone through the wash. It feels like such a waste of money to me. It was nice that I could get it in a larger size. A lot of nice active wear like this in the stores just does not come in bigger sizes. You can be heavy, still be active and look good doing it.

Comfortable, without the issue of the shorts part riding up. I usually wear a size 6, but I got this in 8 based on reviews and it fit fine. I was going to keep these, but I couldn't justify the cost since the "swishy" noise they make was pretty annoying while just walking around my house in them briefly. I probably wouldn't wear them much because of it. If swishy sounding material doesn't bother you, these are fine skorts.

I love the way this skirt looks, I love the way it fits, but good lord it is a wedgie waiting to happen! I wore this for a trip where we were at an amusement park walking around. All day long and I was ducking at every corner to tug this thing out of my backside. So - while it looks great, I would not recommend wearing it if you plan to walk, at all. The length is nice - and perhaps those that have been blessed with less guh-dunk-guh-dunk can pull this one off.

I originally purchased a size 8, based on the reviews, even though I have Royal Robbins shorts in size 6 that fit perfectly. When I got the skort I discovered it was way too big, sliding over my hips big! I exchanged it immediately for a size 6 which fits great. I bought it to take on a cruise; it packed well and is very comfortable. What I like best is that, although it's casual, I felt a bit more "dressed up" than I have when wearing other skorts. It fell just above my knees which made it appropriate to wear on a variety of occasions.

Runs small. I'm typically a size 4 or 6 and ordered the 6 as I haven't purchased this brand before. Was quite surprised it was cut so small I had to return it and get a size 8. The 8 is a bit big in the waist but I can live with it. Aside from sizing issues, the fabric is what I expected and it dries very quickly.

I love these skorts. They look more dressy than shorts but with the convenience. The fabric is quick drying and had just the right enough amount of give.I have this exact skort I bought from a store a few years ago, but I wanted a different color. This brand runs large, even a 2 is too big for me usually. This new one is slightly smaller than my other one, even though they are both 2s. I would say this newer one is true to a size 2, so I have commented accordingly on the review.

Very well made. Good fit. I am a teacher so there's lots of bending, walking, reaching...all day, and this skort can take it. I love the feel of the material. It does wrinkle a bit but I'm only wearing it casually so that's not a big deal for me. The "Soapstone" color is a very nice light kacky color. I only wish it had pockets.
