One Good Story, That One: Stories

I bought this book to add diverse perspectives in my middle school literature class. It took a couple close reads and class discussions, but my students came to REALLY enjoy the wit of the narrator from the short stories we chose. These bite-sized narratives improved their appreciation of culture, history, and writing style.

Delightful short stories. Native American books are always expensive, but are worth it because of the fresh insights on life.

The book is as described and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Good book to read and think about.

ok, but Sherman Alexi is far more entertaining for his wit, style and imagination.

Thomas King is brilliant and funny - always! His novel Green Grass Running Water is one of my top 3 lifetime novels.

Came in the mail really quick and in great new condition. Also really good price for a book that I needed for class and would not read otherwise.

This book is really several wonderful stories, seen truly through native eyes.. one good read this book is.. I have yet to read one of Mr. Kings books that are not.

I am a high school teacher. I am using this book for research to do some curriculum writing.

Enjoyed the stories - sometimes I don't always get what King is saying, but that is probably a cultural difference. My favorite writing of his is Medicine River. In fact it is one of my favorite books.

Interesting collection of short stories by Native American author reflecting on Native American people, history, and culture, and there place in the world.

I had this book years ago, and loved it. Lent it to someone, and lost it, so I was very happy to find it here. Thomas King's short stories sing -- absolutely sing. If you like his long fiction, I highly recommend this books as well.
