Fab little soprano!
I'm in love with my new little uke. It's perfect! I had been wanting an Islander Soprano for a while, but my local uke shop never had one. One day it dawned on me to check Amazon... and there you go. Islander makes a really good uke for a very decent price. I love that the strings are covered at the bottom of the fret... it does make it more difficult to restring if you break one, but you don't get your sleeve caught while playing. Also, if you're just starting out on a uke, two tips: If you really want to learn to play don't get a cheap one - they don't stay in tune. And, keep your uke out and visible - it will prompt you to play more often.

Not that great.
This uke is not worth $100. A little sloppy on the details and doesn't look as good in person. I sent it back. There are better ukes out there for the same and even lower price.

Très bon ukulélé, il possède une bonne profondeur au niveau du son et une agréable prise en main.Le manche est plus large que mon ancien soprano, ce qui laisse d'avantage de place pour les doigts. Les cordes sont très souples.

OUTSTANDING MID-LEVEL UKE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TOP QUALITY AT A GOOD PRICE
I had to post on here because there were only 3 reviews, 1 was spot on, 1 was in French, and 1 seemed to be written by someone who was looking for a bargain ukulele. This is NOT a beginner or bargain level ukulele. It is an INTERMEDIATE level ukulele made by the company KANILEA -- one of the four prominent ukulele makers in Hawaii (known as the four K's since they all begin with K). The Islander brand is their lower-priced line that is produced in Asia, but is still made to their standards and superior to other companies that mass produce their instruments (think Kala, Lanikai, Cordoba, etc, which are all good ukes and superior to the myriad of bargain ukes you'll find out there). I researched for months before making my purchase and went to several music shops, playing probably at least 50 different ukes in all price ranges. This instrument is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Its acacia wood is stunning and the sound is brighter, louder and fuller than others in this price range. The soprano's fretboard is longer than most and has the room of a concert for people with large fingers. It comes with the premium Aquila strings, and actually has bridge pins which is virtually unheard of in a uke under 200 dollars. Most players pick up an inexpensive uke and then upgrade to an intermediate one once they realize how addictive ukulele playing is. If you would like to bypass this first step and go straight to an intermediate level uke that you won't need to upgrade until you're ready to invest 500 or more, and support a Hawaiian / American ukulele company, then the Islander line is really hard to beat without spending much, much more.
