Let's talk about this shampoo! This particular formulation was previously rated as being safe on EWG. This is the only shampoo my family has used for several years and we have been exceptionally happy with it! We've purchased it 10 times off of Amazon!So, I'm hoping and praying that Matrix will bring it back (since it's been discontinued). I've seen online that other people are also disappointed that it's not available anymore! I tried their suggested replacement, which I purchased from Amazon.. (And, actually, it is now, the only Matrix shampoo with a good rating on EWG). But it was terrible for me. I was quite surprised and very disappointed. It 'coated my hair so it looked and felt dirty.To date I have tried three other options. All had good EWG ratings. And had some good reviews. They have all irritated my scalp and/or made my hair look pretty bad. This shampoo was really the best! And I'm holding out hope that I'll be able to order it 10 more times in the near future!

I bought this shampoo because my hair seemed to have product build up and getting dull. But turns out, it was a lifesaver after a particularly bad salon visit.I had grown my natural hair out in preparation for coloring it silver gray with lavender highlights. I had pictures and the stylist assured me she could do it but it would take a long appointment. First she bleached it with foils and then finally applied the gray toner. And I don’t have words to describe the color it turned ou - dull mouse gray is too kind). I fled and went strait home and grabbed the Biolage Reset shampoo. I put a good amount on my wet hair and scrubbed, rinse repeat. And it worked! The gray came out and left me with light shiny blond. Compliments rolled in! Disaster averted 🎉

I have curly, color treated hair and well water. I don’t have the money for a water softener and hair was becoming so dry. Recently my scalp was itching miserably. My hair was coarse and over the years it was starting to thin. I was so distraught I recently cut it into a short bob hair style and noticed it felt healthier and the layers were helping disguise the thinning a little bit. However, my scalp continued to itch and soon the terrible dry texture returned. I tried this shampoo and immediately felt my scalp irritation improve, and my hair is unbelievably soft. I try to use it only a few times per week because I understand clarifying shampoos can be drying, but with alternating off days with another shampoo of the same brand and conditioner daily I’m so happy. I was using a ton of styling products to compensate for the dryness of my hair which was likely a vicious cycle. I use a lot less. I rarely write reviews but I specifically came here to write this one that’s how please I am. Both with the texture and how much easier it is to style my hair with fewer products. I wonder if I could have avoided cutting my hair had I tried this first. But I’m hoping that I can regrow it. I think a lot of the thinning recently was from scratching my scalp so I’m feeling optimistic that that may resolve as well. But if not, now that my hair is not weighted down my so much product build up the body disguises the thinness so that’s very helpful too.

I use this product for a very long time. Including biolage hairspray and gel. Reached out to the company because they discontinued this and no response. I will be switching brands

This product has literally cleaned out all the oils and shampoo product that would not come out of my hair/scalp. I was so confused on why this was occurring since I only use a tiny bit of shampoo and wash my hair every other day for a good 30 minutes. I was using different shampoos and nothing would completely rinse out the shampoo and oil out. Every time I showered my hair looked flat and oily as if I didn’t wash my hair. The first time using this shampoo it immediately worked. However I don’t recommend you guys to use it regularly as it may be too strong for your scalp. But I highly recommend people who are also struggling and relate to my review to try this out I’m so glad I did try it as it might work for you as well.

Been using this shampoo for over 13 years!! Every now and again I’ll try to switch and try something else to see if I could be missing out on something but I always regret it and come back to this one. I have oily hair and usually wash my hair every day to every other day and this stuff does the trick. It really makes my hair feel CLEAN after. It smells good but it’s not a strong long lasting scent. I don’t get any itchy dry scalp after and have obviously never gotten any bad side effects. I’ve been married a few years and we’ve always bought different shampoos because he sticks with his old favorite and I stick with mine, but a few months ago he ran out and tried this one and now he uses it every day and doesn’t buy his anymore, he loves it! Highly recommend for anyone that has oily hair and loves to get that clean feel!
