LSI Logic Accessory 05-25444-00 LSICVM02 CacheVault Kit for 9361/9380 Brown Box

Bought this module from SCSI4ME and it's a full kit indeed. I have no idea where to screw in that metal cover, so I just used a 3M double sided sticky tape to attach the capacitor block to my computer case.I'm transferring ~15TB data from a relatively fast storage via an aged 1Gb/s connection (translated to about 100MB/s write speed), and without the write-back cache Windows showed 100% of disk utilization (writes). It was also affecting my computer responsiveness for some reason.Now, the write-back cache is on and everything is going extremely smooth. The disk utilization is jumping between 3 and 4%. Unbelievable. Theoretically you could "force" a full write caching without this module, but it's way too much risk IMHO.

I transfer large data files (Video) some at 30GB. Transfer speeds start at 1200KB/s and drop to buss speed of 110KB/s after the initial burst. Now I can consistently maintain about 730KB/s on stripped drives. Very nice. The only downside is that most of the kits come from old stock. My battery was manufactured in 2015. Be prepared to purchase a new battery in the near future. My works, but it is 6 years old at time of purchase.

Despite what the seller says they do not send any cords. The kit is next to useless as you absolutely require 1 of the cords. The real kit includes two. I would search elsewhere unless you plan to buy a whole new unit simply to replace one cord
