Kryptonite 000884 Keeper 5s Yellow Disc Lock

Got smashed by concrete when someone tried to steal my bike but lock did not break. Got some damage but still usable. Kept using until i had to buy a new one when it got cut by a professional saw.

Easy to use, works fine on Vespa GTS300

First time buying a lock for a motorcycle, but I did my homework. Three years using this lock and my bobber has not walked away. This thing is easy to put on and take off. Nice design.

This disk lock has been easy to use so far, no issue with the mechanism and easy to put in place. I appreciate that it comes with a reminder cable and also that it fits under the rear seat of my motorcycle. It also feels solid and is pretty hefty, there is a good weight to it. However I am removing a star because the paint chips off very easily. I put the lock in a plastic pouch to prevent that from happening, but even minor bumps seem to chip the paint.

Someone tried to steal my XSR900 from Park Avenue in NYC, in the daylight, sometime after about 6AM. They hammered it pretty hard, damaged the lock and the rotor, but it stood it's ground and did it's job. It was too damaged to be removed, so I had to get a tow, but at least I still have the bike. I recently watch a video where a guy on a sport bike forgot to remove his disk lock, and when he went to take off it the lock shattered into pieces. I also once saw broken pieces of a similar cheap disk lock on the ground. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $10 and get something reliable. This lock can get a little finicky when locking or unlocking, requiring a little jiggle here and there, but I will never complain about that again.

I have to assume this is the only reason the theifs did not steal 2nd motorcycle as it had this on it as they cut the chain that connected to both motorcycles but only stole the motorcycle that did not have a caliper lock .

So someone did try to steal my motorcycle, but I had this lock on the rotor. In the pictures, you can see they smashed the tire lock, freeing the handlebars to rotate without the key. They tried to disassemble the tire (you can see a missing bolt) to get the lock off so they could roll the bike away. When all that failed, they smashed the gas tank in an attempt to get the gas cap off, and when all that failed, they kept my tarp as a booby prize. The lock held. You can see how much abuse they gave it, and I was worried for my rotor, but it held the thief up long enough for a neighbor to drive him off. Job well done, 5/5 buying the name brand was worth every cent. My only minor gripe is that the rubber cap to protect the keyhole from rust has never wanted to fit right, but my area doesn't have much corrosion as a concern. I've told everyone I know that rides to get one! It fits in your backpack and takes only a few seconds to put on. I don't use the strap because I don't want to draw attention to the security device, but other people do to remind them to remove it before sitting down and firing up. Either way, excellent product, would absolutely buy again, but everything is still here and I don't have to because it did its job.

Best lock company out there. My old oxford lock rusted and had be cut off. This lock from Kryptonite, takes so much abuse, always works, never rusts, feels very secure.
