Timeless: Perfect for Studios at ANY Stage!
I'm usually hesitant to purchase books about businesses that are older than a decade because so much has changed with the influence of social media, but this book offers information within the gray areas of being a studio owner. It's safe to assume that most studio owners weren't business or finance majors in college. This book takes you away from the music to show you how to structure you studio from the ground up as far as planning and financing. I am in the second year of being a studio owner and although I passed the hurdle being in business for one year, there are some mistakes I could've easily avoided had I picked up this book sooner. I recommend it whether you're thinking of starting a studio or you're even well into developing a clientbase and have regular work. It truly gives insight to everything you need to keep that well-oiled machine running.

my son loved it
I purchased this for my son who just moved to phoenix from Burbank where he was an engineer at a well known studio. He's ready to start his own place with the blessings of is producer/mentor out in CA. He enjoyed the info on the money part of the bus. The taxes, advertising etc.

A must read for anyone serious about a recording studio project!
A great book on giving a perspective of the promotion, economics and operations of a new "start-up" recording studio. Some reasonable gear selection focused on covering the operations needs (for high-end gear spending stimulus look in other readings or visit remaining pro audio shows).Very useful advices with practicality on how to offer recording services in a business professional manner and with a sensible money balance.

A must have!
This is the perfect book for anyone looking to open a professional recording studio. This book covers a lot on business ownership, taxes, state and local regulations, and even employee standards. As well as construction of the studio, wiring, sound theory, and acoustics. A must have!
