GREAT LENSE FOR PORTRAITS AND MACRO USE
I bought this lens to use it for dslr film scanning with my sony FX30. It works great, remember this lens is all manual. Definitely the cap cover is a little flimsy but overall the built and the feel of the lens is great. I also tried it for portraits and it gives a nice definition and the sharpness is fair. The important thing to note here is that this lens is usable between 5-8 F as it gives the best in range focus and sharpness so you will need good lightning. NOT GOOD FOR NIGHT PHOTO OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, unless you use flash! I recommend this lens and try to grab it in discount. It is my first macro and I am satisfied with the price/quality ratio.

Amazing lens
This lens is fully manual - manual aperture, manual focus. You know, like old school cameras. You WILL have to manually rotate the rings on the lens to use it. This isn't an issue or downside (some may see it as a feature!), just something worth being aware of. First, the bad: - The optics are smaller than more expensive macro lenses and especially at smaller apertures, it can really struggle to get enough light onto the camera sensor, so make sure you have some extra bright lighting if you need a lot of depth-of-field. - It is quite heavy. It is both the smallest lens I own, but also the heaviest. Neither of those are bad enough to matter in my opinion however. It still isn't that heavy, and you can always add more light. And it is not really a problem at wider apertures. The good is a much longer list: - Value. This is a whole lot of lens for the price. Rather than reducing the quality of the optics to reduce cost, they just reduced the size of the optics but retained the quality. This is not really a problem for a macro lens, and it was good trade-off. - Build quality. I mentioned this was heavy... well, that's because its built like a brick sh-t house. The body is all metal and not especially thin walled either. I am not even entirely sure how this lens is as heavy as it is... its a dense boi, that's for sure. - The results. You can actually photograph features that are microscopic with this lens. Without a microscope. I attached a 'die shot', a photo of a silicon die (a microchip). In the bottom right corner, there is a millimeter scale. The thing being photographed is an inkjet print head and some of its control circuitry. This was done with nothing but this lens and a Sony ZV-E10, no other special equipment. I also attached a video, a close up inspection of a circuitboard. This one isn't quite as easy to get a sense of scale, but there are a couple of black square things with a bumpy surface and silvery blobs around the edges - those blobs have a 0.5mm pitch. So the center to center distance of two adjacent blobs is half a millimeter.

Superb value!!
I can already tell that this little lens will rarely come off my ZV-E10, which i use exclusively for photography. What a brilliant compact little macro kit. I prefer using MF on macro so this suits me perfectly. Set up your focus peaking settings, release without lens setting, and voila, you're good to play. IQ on this lens is brilliant, if you're into macro, watch Thomas Shahan's UTube review to see what this little beast can do. Thank you Amazon for a super fast delivery 🙌

Breathtaking and Affordable
By far one of the best, if not the best macro lens for the money. It takes stunning and breathtaking photos. This lens, although not designed for it, can take beautiful portraits. I’ve included a photo I took of my eye just to showcase the clarity and detail this lens can pick up for such an amazing price. Highly recommend it. I used a Sony A6100 for my camera which this lens works flawlessly with

Very good. For the price, it can't be beat!
Macro lens for Sony APS mirrorless bodies. Focuses from infinity all the way to 1:1 for stamps, coins, and jewelry. Excellent resolution. Slightest touch of color fringing in the corners (nicely fixed in Lightroom: Develop module, Lens Correction panel, check Remove Chromatic Aberration). For close-up and macro, the best aperture, no surprise, is f/5.6 not wide open.

Very impressed with the build and image quality of this lens.
An excellent lens at excellent price. The build of this lens is very sturdy and the picture quality is impressive at this price point. You can easy spend 5 times on a comparable lens of the same quality. I use it on my Sony a6000.

Disappointing
This is the second manual focus macro lens I have purchased for my camera. When I attached it, the manual focus mode was greyed out and it never showed the specific areas that might be in focus as I attempted to attain proper focus. Plain and simple, it just didn’t work as it should, so I returned it. Spend the extra money and get an autofocus lens compatible with your camera brand.

Sehr gute Abbildungsleistung
By the way, die Makroringe waren der erste Versuch, in die Makrowelt einzusteigen.

Value for money
Fast delivery and a quality product. Don't let the lo price and name fool you, this is a top notch macro lens. Why pay 4x as much for a name lens when this does the job just as well. Recommended.

Amazing
I think you'll be hard pressed to find a more useful lens for this price! Sharpness on this thing is incredible. Build quality is my only complaint. It's a rugged lens to be sure but the aperture ring is clickless and can move with a brush of the palm as you're trying to focus. I'm already looking at the other lenses they have on offer.
