Besides one all too obvious flaw it's fine & Laptop compatible!
Logitech may have produced this control a little too soon, before seeing the final model of the standard PS3 control. The one all too obvious flaw that earns it such low ratings from everyone else, would probably be the lack of a Home button, which leaves you stranded in your game without the ability to access the XMB (Cross-Menu Bar). If your someone who chats, and would need to go back and forth a lot I can see this being a hassle. However, If you just play the game until it's time to quit, this is not a problem, just pull the USB out and turn on another PS3 control when your done. The ChillStream's gimmick is to help you if you play for extended periods of time, and notice your hands get sweaty from gripping so tight. If your game is that intense I don't see why you would constantly need to frequent the XMB. Unless for music, but I've had freezing issues from playing music from outside of a game, so I don't even bother with that anymore. The fan inside has two settings, but the low setting may as well not even be on. High does well to cool my palms while playing racing games, and intently gripping for precision. The shoulder triggers left a bit to be desired, becuase they aren't triggers, they are just larger buttons. They seriously must not have noticed that the PS3 control would be any different from PS2. It is nice to have a wired control, for whenever my PS3 controls finally die, as I'm told they will, and I'm left without the money to fix or replace them. Just out of curiosity I plugged it into my laptop, and it actually found a working driver! so it does work on a Computer as well, fan and all, for that reason I'll add a few points. Should be labeled Logitech Playstation 3/PC ChillStream Controller

Came in a open package
It came in a open package, i returned it. I simply do not trust anything like that. It said new, not used.

nice concept Easily plugged and played on windows 7 PC ...
Pros: nice concept Easily plugged and played on windows 7 PC Nice analog stick, clicky, not a baby-sized D-pad like on many controllers but a man-sized d-pad. Diagonals are acceptable, not great. Decent analogs, only a tiny deadspace. I like how it turns off the fan after about 5 minutes of no input, and fires up with any input after that. Some might hate it. Cons: Loud even on low, whiny on low, doesn't move nearly as much air as the racket would imply Cramped design in back, place where it forces your middle fingers togo is uncomfortable with medium sized hands let alone large. Face buttons are very low profile, xbox360 style, not my preference, much prefer PS or Nintendo style. Matter of taste. L1 L2 R1 R2 are imo very low quality buttons and not triggers in old style chillstream L3 R3 (analog pressed-in buttons) are middling quality, sometimes do not register as they should. Fans don't move as much as you'd hope. Bought for $4. Def worth that. Not sure I'd pay $10+.

PS Button
If you don't have a PS3, then the comments by the other reviewers below are probably cryptic. I own a PS3 and when someone said, "No PS button" I realized that it was off my list as a possibility but after reading through the reviews I realized that there were probably a lot of people who would not understand what this means - and were they buying a controller the same day they were buying a PS3, well, they might consider this - Logitech is a good name in keyboards and they usually get it right. The PS button serves as an "on" button when the PS3 is off, thus allowing you to turn on the PS3 from the controller. (This works whether the controller is wired or wireless). When playing PS2 games on the PS3, you need to push the PS button to reinitialize the controller when stopping or starting the game. When playing PS2 games, you use virtual memory chips that are stored on the hard drive - you "break out" of the game to move the chips to different slots using the PS button. Some games only access the first of the two virtual slots, some access both of them but won't switch where they will save, but you can get the same function as you would with physical chips by breaking into the monitor and moving virtual chips from slot to slot while the game is running (but suspended). When you want to stop a game, ps2 or ps3, you hold the PS button for a couple seconds and a menu comes up. This allows you to determine the state of charge of your controller if you are using it wirelessly, turn off one controller, turn on a controller (so that you can join a game) renumber controllers and so on and so forth. It also provides the only access that allows you to stop a game - which allows you to access the browser that is built in to the system, download demos and complete games and upgrades that might be available through the Sony store and so forth. The point is that without the PS button, the controller is more or less useless - especiallly for PS2 games because they require that you press them to initialize the controller when you start the game. I'm not sure how I could use it - there may be some other way for it to get initialized. Now, I'm currently playing "Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII". I've managed to get as far as the first battle of Midway. It is a game which can be played with or without the tilt - and when the tilt is on, there are two patterns of controls - one puts the rudder on the second stick so that it does the same thing the pedals normally do and that is the one I use. But it would not be a good game without the tilt. I've played it both ways, and, well, tilt just wins. There are a ton of things I hate about the PS3 stock controller (the biggest of which is that the "L2" and "R2" can be hit accidentally too easily, you have no idea how many times I accidentally dropped hand grenades in Tomb Raider - Legend while picking up the controller after a break), but I won't replace it with something that does not have a PS button, and I probably won't replace it with something that does not have the sixaxis stuff. Yes, that probably means I'll be using Sony controllers forever...but Sony could license the fan from Logitech. I expect more games to put real function on the tilt in the future. That will further make controllers like this one less than useful. Maybe there will be a version two with tilt and a PS button - I'd kinda like a bigger controller myself.

Lame - don't buy this.
I got this out of desparation but then found out there is no PS3 button - this renders this thing completely useless except it has a fan which addresses the problem of sweaty hands (what?)

Chillstream
I used it for 2 hours today while playing Resistance and noticed it does indeed keep your hands from sweating but that's about all it does. The speed control button only works when it wants to and the d-pad gets stuck either in the up or down directions almost every time you try to use it. It also didn't feel as responsive as the SIXAXIS. My biggest complaint though is that there is no PS button! There is no way to go back to the ps3's main menu when you are playing a game or watching a movie without the PS button. You can't even power on/off the system with this controller. Inventive idea but with many flaws.

A joke of a product. Just garbage
Threw in the garbage. I wanted this controller to work as I normally don't mind logitech merchandise but the response and sensitivity of the buttons are a joke. I tried to play assassins creed with this controller and the response of the controller was way off and inconsistent. For example I would be running to around in the game to my next mission and for no reason reason whatsoever my selected weapons would just change while I was running. I wouldn't even be touching the buttons that would affect my weapons inventory but weapons would change from hidden blade to crossbow for no reason. Also in the middle of a sword fight, my character would just stand there and just take damage when I was trying strike my enemies in the game. So yeah when I need to fight my guy just stands there and gets cut up when I am repeatedly pressing the attack button. Don't buy this thing if you don't want to get frustrated when playing your favorite games.

You should by the Dual Shock 3
This product is, but not worth the money, there are a few buttons, after 6 months of very light use, stopped working consistently. I don't like how the L2, R2 buttons feel, the official controller is way better, and I wish it was wireless. This would be a 3 or 4 except for the fact that a few of the buttons don't work very well.
