I keep ordering this book and then giving it away. For over 20 years this book has helped me comfort others.

I love this type of book! It is almost an allegory, but not really. It is written like a children's story, kind of like a picture book, but has a deeper meaning. I put it in the same category as 'The Wall' and 'Hope for the Flowers.' One page that I often remember from this book is the one where the sun tells the tree that he needed the winter so that he would be strong. And when the tree blames the sun for not being there when he needed the warmth from the sun, and the sun says that he was there all the time and sometimes his light was about more than the tree could take - it reflected so brightly off the snow.

Someone loaned me a copy when I was very ill , I then bought a copy for myself and have bought at least a dozen more over the yrs to give to friends who are in need of support. It is excellent - I re-read it often

Many years ago, at the beginning of my journey, someone very special gifted me this book. I just reread it and am reminded of the winters I’ve survived, the wonderful friends that have encouraged me and the One who named me.

not as good as "hope for the butterflies" but worth reading and owning.the copy i got looked like it had survived a harsh winter, but it was the right price. 5 stars to the seller.

A friend introduced me to this story and I found it so moving that I bought my own copy. For those of us who have been through a very difficult stretch and come out the other side, it celebrates our faith and encourages us to find beauty and joy again. It is only a short story with a tree as the main character, but it is powerful.

This is a lovely story which tells the story of a tree which survives a cold winter. Underlying the story is a spiritual journey which enables the reader to understand life and its affects on the spirit.

Just because you survived an event, doesn’t mean that you don’t have your scars. This book helps you deal with those scars. Awesome read.
