What a cool tool. I saw this used on All Recipes (apple pie), so googled images to find it - and found it on Amazon, of course. It does EGGSACTLY what it should do and I peeled six apples FAST!

I purchased this style peeler after fumbling with an old fashion metal crank style. The apple peeler came just in time to make 2 bushels of apple peeling a quick task. I did notice it was more difficult to get a good peel on over ripen soft apples. But for the most part it was as easy as popping the apple down on the metal prongs and turning the handle. It came with the instruction manual and a replacement blade. And safety covers for both the blade and prongs. I like that it is easy to wash and keep clean. I would give this apple peeler a four star rating. Definitely a lifesaver if you are a canner or a mom or grandparent peeling lots of apples!

This product is not worth it. It broke on the 4th apple. We returned it without any problems. I do not recommend this product.

When this was new it worked very well. Four weeks later the blade began to catch on the peel, and the handle pops off when it does. It's a razor blade, basically, so it will wear and it can't be sharpened.Mine came with one extra blade which was easy to change. I have not been able to find replacement blades. If they aren't reasonable and readily available, I will reluctantly throw this away.Update - the 2nd blade did not fix the catching problem. Maybe it became dull sitting in the air for 6 weeks. Or something may have broken in the mechanism.Lowering to two stars. Great idea, poor durability/reliability.

I reluctantly bought one of these FIVE years ago at a local grocery. It was a "end cap" item. It was just over six bucks and I figured "not much to lose". I have made apple sauce every year using this peeler and getting ready for the next season. I recall a "gear" slipping once last year and I was thinking it may be wearing out. Better find another one. I had one of the cast iron ones before this and it broke the second time i used it. I just searched for a different, more sturdy one and the comments on those say "broke the first time I used it all the way to the best I've ever had. Many say the suction doesn't stick well, this has has every single time i use it. Who knows, maybe my counter top is cleaner. (doubt it :-) ) Well, I want to get a new peeler before my 5 year old/$6+ peeler wears out. I'm going with this one.....again.

OMG...what did I ever do before I found this? I make and can applesauce and ever year prior to this year I hand pealed all the apples, this has been a real time saver and works like a charm. I love it and I highly recommend it.

Bought this to assist with making baby food. The handle does tend to pop off from time to time and if you were rough with it and forced it you could easily break it but if you load the apple straight and take the extra second to use it gingerly it really does the job. Cleans easily. I would def. recommend.

Use it in the fall when canning applesauce. Lent it to my parents when they were doing applesauce and they kind of claimed it. I have to "borrow" it from them now when I need it. Works great.
