SugarVeil® AirPen Piping Dispenser

We purchased this recently with a bit of trepidation as it is a lot of money for a product we had not used before. However the return policy set our mind at ease and we went for it. So not disappointed! We use this for cookie decorating with royal icing. There was a short learning curve going from a pastry bag to this but it works fantastic and it was a short learning curve. It's especially helpful for detailed decorating and writing. I love the cartridge system as it makes it easy to change colors. I do wish I had purchased more cartridges as there are times 5 is not enough (when I have a lot of orders and colors) and I would like extras as well to use for non-food applications such as henna. It is compact and I love the carrying/storage case it came with. It is a bit noisy but it is not deafening and I do not mind it. I can not imagine continuing to do my cookie decorating without it! LOVE IT!

Sugar Veils piping icing pen is amazing!!! I had watched all the videos so I was ready to use this. Had a couple questions for Sugar Veil and their customer service department was quick to answer. Cookiers should add this to their list of necessary products. Tipless icing bags are great but Sugar Veils piping pen is so much easier to write with since it is consistent pressure and icing flow. Love that everything is in a cute little tool. Doesn’t take up very much space at all. Super easy clean up. A definite plus for the cookie decorating I do.

It was a bit complicated to assemble, but once you do it's alright. It's a writing tool. I haven't used it much, but plan to very soon.

I was really excited to use this system after watching several tutorials and promotional videos. After receiving the pen, I took it out and all of the parts were included that the listing said would be. I found it very easy to load up with my typical detail work consistency royal icing, and found that the compressor constantly overloaded and shut down. I thinned the icing, and had the same effect. You cannot do long periods more than a second or two with flow before the compressor boggs down and shuts off for a break. I adjusted all the air flow options, and it didn't seem to make a bit of difference. I adjusted icing thickness as well, but for it to flow the easiest, the icing had to be so thin that no true detail work could be accomplished, because the icing would just pool out. I'm sure it was truly meant for SugarVeil, and they claim royal icing is acceptable to boost sales, even though it is not. I cannot imagine trying to use buttercream in this dispenser - it would be a nightmare. Back to tipless bags I go!

I tried it today for the first time and I really like it . Very good quality for the price I called sugarveil company with a question and a real person answered the phone and talk to me and answered my question so I love doing business this way so far I really love Sugarveil all the way around. I’ve bought the mats the fin the scraper I haven’t tried those yet. also the sugarveil pack that you mix .planning on trying that tonight and I’ll put a review.

This thing is great. I wish it had been marketed more and I had come across it sooner! I have always struggled with detailed piping, especially writing. My hands and wrists just don't work together well enough for consistent results. This thing is amazing though. Worked perfectly right out of the box, easy to set up and start using right away. Well worth the investment imo, if you've struggled with nice-looking writing on cakes or cookies.

I am still getting my technique down but loving it and what it does for my cookies.
