Can easily remove cables such as a laptop power cord?

It probably isn't worth the effort to put your laptop power cord into and out of the cable holder. They are designed to permanently keep all your cords in order.

I would buy the 1.5 inch. I have the 1.2 and 1.5. The 1.5 inch for 5 wires is probably just right. If they are usb wires you may be able to go with the 1.2 inch, but the power cords and HDMIs are usually thicker. The sleeve works and looks great.

Anyone have an issue with static electricity or devices shorting out?

I have not had that issue. I have wrapped into mine Subwoofer, ethernet, and Subwoofer electrical plug.

Is white heat resistant too? Seems black is only mentioned for high temperature resistance?
