Not just any ordinary analog chorus/Vibe pedal......... The Empress offers unparalleled chorus options; an infinite number of analog chorus/vibe devices in one box… Her most enticing feature is the unique voicing control; this dial allows you to access virtually any chorus sound you could desire! It changes the delay time - it’s on a pot so you’ve got an infinite number of chorus pedals in one box - from super spanky sparkling clean to noisy, sea-sick inducing, pitch bending wobble. We’ve designed a circuit that lets you adjust the delay time via a potentiometer - from one extreme to the other and everything in between. In it’s most extreme settings the device will produce some hiss - this would be expected within the last third of the voicing controls sweep.

Amazing sound.
The Red Witch Analog Empress Chorus pedal is hands down the best chorus I've ever used. The "Mix" knob is exactly what the name sounds like. Controls the level of saturation from the Chorus into your original tone."Voicing" is where the money is at on this chorus. You can get any chorus sound on the planet with this knob. With speed sweep adjustment, choice between chorus and vibrato, Brightness switch, two input stages to choose from, and true bypass...this pedal is just flat-out awesome.Very durable build. I would highly recommend this pedal to anyone looking for versatile sound...at any stage of your set-up building...you can alter this pedal to conform with your ever-changing sound.

Took a few weeks to appreciate it
I kinda splurged on a 'boutique' pedal. I had been using a Danelectro Cool Cat and somewhat impulsively upgraded to the Red Witch. At first listen, I had a little buyers remorse - it did not sound all that different than my $70 Danelectro.I kept them side-by-side for a few weeks and after tweaking the Red Witch and listening for an extended period of time, my buyers remorse went away. I was able to dial in the Red Witch and, while the difference is not night and day, the Red Witch is noticeably more lush and complex. Kinda like the difference between sitting in a hot bath or soaking in a custom jacuzzi. I'm a jacuzzi guy now.

This Chorus pedal is in my opinion the best product on the market
This Chorus pedal is in my opinion the best product on the market. I love it. I own a Red Witch Violetta Delay as well which is also fantastic. I suggest that anyone interested in a Chorus pedal buy it without delay. 5 stars.

Too much tone change
I've had this pedal for several years now. It's been on my Acoustic guitar pedalboard the entire time. I've really tried to like it and use it and it has a great cool factor... but I've finally given up.I decided to sit down with it and find out why I wasn't using it. I sat down with my nicest acoustic amp (an old analog Acoustasonic Jr., BEFORE they added the DSP effects. This has real spring reverb and the sweetest chorus I've ever heard. I think they use both of the 8" speakers in this amp to give it lushness I'm hard pressed to find anywhere else)...and I put the amp on the cleanest settings with no effects and centered all the EQ.What I found, is every time I turned the pedal on, even with all the parameters dialed back to zero...it changed my tone dramatically. And I didn't like it. It doesn't matter what it did after that. Anything the pedal adds after that, doesn't do anything to make the underlying tone better. I tried using different outputs and cables, didn't help. When off, it doesn't affect my tone. But when I hit that switch...It also doesn't come close to the chorus I get with Acoustasonic Jr. Might not be a fair comparison since the chorus on the amp is onboard and it uses the 2 speakers to provide spaciousness. I haven't used the Red Witch in true Stereo, so that should help with provide more spacious Chorus. But, it really doesn't matter. The tone change this gave my sound is just unacceptable to me. I probably wouldn't notice it if it's in a electric guitar rig with a bunch of other stuff going on. But, when I sat down with it, with just an acoustic guitar and clean acoustic guitar amp...I discovered why I rarely turned it on in gigs. I just don't like how it changes my tone.Time for something new I guess. Too difficult to use the old Acoustasonic Jr. in a loud band situation...and it's not meant for that anyway. Some people love this thing. For me, not so much. Your mileage may vary...;)
