Very Good Product - Recommended!
Bought this for my Samsung S3. It actually works pretty good and fits into the vents of my 2012 Ford Explorer. It took a little bit of TLC to hook into the vent slots correctly (you've got to make sure the hooks grab the back of the vent slots); but overall the process went smoothly with no hiccups. Don't force anything and you should be OK. This is my first vent mounted holder, and compared to suction cup holders I would buy these anytime now. Suction cups never worked reliably for me. And, once in place, it doesn't seem to interfere with air flow - something I was a little concerened about. It is raised enough from vents to allow air flow. The "wings" expand wide enough to hold a Samsung S3 plus more. And, for me, it is a one hand operation to remove my mobile phone or place into the holder and squeeze the wings tight around it.The only minor - very minor - thing is that when you reach and touch the screen of the mobile phone to execute a function, there is a tendancy for the whole thing to swing up slightly if you touch the screen hard. This is because the holder hooks into the vents from the top, but simply rests down from the bottom on the grill. Fixed from top, but free to move from bottom. I wish there was a way to fix all three attachment points to the vent so that the holder doesn't tip up if top of the screen is touched a little hard. But overall, this is a very minor thing - I got used to it. I am thankful that I can mount, see, and reach my smart phone in a very convient and secure manner in my car. Very Recommended!!

Works great in *almost* every car
I have purchased four of these devices so far. One for my car and one for my wife's, one that I keep in my travel bag and have used in rental cars all over the USA, and one that may still be sitting forgotten in a rental car in Lexington, KY.Overall, this is a really useful device for just about any car. It attaches fairly easily to the A/C vents, and I've never had a problem with it falling or breaking. It's perfect when using my phone as a GPS or for listening to music. The only downsides are as follows:1) In maybe one car out of 10, the air vents are positioned in such a way that this just can't work. Very disappointing when that happens, so I would recommend getting one to try if you're worried about it.2) The tension clips that hold the device to the vents can be a little stiff, and it's sometimes tricky to attach them. Especially when you're tired and have been on a plane all day!Other than that, I would really recommend this to anyone, especially for my fellow travelers. And if you find the one that I forgot in Lexington (or maybe Omaha), enjoy!*EDITED*Sadly, I need to deduct one star from my prior review. I'm not sure if the manufacturing process has changed on these devices, but twice now I've had the clips that go around the vent louvers bend and then break. Once this happens, the product is effectively useless. So, it's still an OK product for $10, but it should last longer than it does.

Solid, no-nonsense holder that works well with iPhones
I needed a new holder for my iPhone in my car, as I use it constantly for GPS. I prefer the air vent mount designs, as it keeps the unit away from the front windshield and allows the iPhone to be a bit more inconspicuous in the car. Plus, during hot Atlanta summers, I'm always putting a sun shield in the windshield, so attaching and removing a suction cup mount would be a huge hassle. The Bracketron mount fits like most standard air vent mounts, but I prefer the spring loaded clips to other designs that do not have springs. Some vehicles have very narrow air vents, preventing the Bracketron from fitting, but this works fine with the rather wide vent spacing in my Subaru WRX.The Bracketron is a bit large relative to some other mobile phone-specific mounts, but that's because this can hold heavier devices like GPS units. I use mine exclusively in the portrait configuration with my iPhone.I have a similar Kensington device holder made specifically for iPhones, but one of the side spring-loaded tension clips broke, within the first month of using it. That's why I bought this instead of the Kensington unit for my second car.I do like the push-button actuator on the Bracketron which opens up the side clips. After two months, nothing has broken.

perfect to hold iPhone for 2 month
I have acura MDX and wanted something that will hold my iPhone securely and at a good location without blocking radio/nav.I believe the key to getting the iPhone holder is positioning. It has to be located at a location that's easy to look and also not block radio/ac/nav controls. For Acura MDX, this works perfect. For my other car, phone holder that plugs into CD player works great.Update 7-19-2014This thing worked great for few month then the release mechanism started to not work. This caused more than necessary strain on the vent tabs trying to get it to release. In short, I have broken vent tabs as result of this product. I don't believe this is a very durable design.I would not recommend this now.
