Nice tool glad they made it.
Good staple puller. To the people who say this opens too easy : there is a torx screw that can be tightened in the pivot. The other side of the pivot is a plenty stout rounded stainless steel rivet. When mine arrived the pivot is quite firm and a little hard to open. I put a dot of oil on the pivot and on the ball of the liner lock. The ball of the liner lock engages a detent to hold the knife closed and it takes a very firm force from my thumb nail to overcome this ball detent. At this point there is zero chance of this opening in my pocket without being on a key ring. I could see how the key ring might get it to open.To give Gerber the benefit of the doubt the hole in the Artifact that people are using to put their key ring through is listed as a "lanyard hole" and there is no chance of a lanyard causing the knife to open as it is right now (stiffish pivot with a ball catch holding it closed). As far as pocket tears I can imagine how that could happen. I will say though that there are no sharp edges on it though there are narrow points and thinned/tapered surfaces. All the edges have been debured and slightly rounded. Nicely done for what it is and what it costs. For those who, like me, were thinking the textured cover over the blade is plastic . . . it is metal and good and stout. Also the blade is replaceable without tools; there is a spring steel plate with a post on it that snaps into the blade and you pull it up with your finger nail or a screw driver ( a dime works well) and slip the old blade out and the new in. The blade is reversible but will not fully close with it reversed. One thing that I have to be careful of but is no big deal and that is to fully snap the blade open so it locks when I use it.The pivot is stiff enough, (brand new just got the Artifact today) that it sort of stops but can be moved further to get it to lock. This is not a fault. I could loosen the pivot slightly but I am choosing to leave it as is and see how it breaks in.So far I like the product and feel I got my monies worth. Rather than put it in my pocket I have a slim pocket in a small belt tool pouch it may ride well in and or just toss it in my everyday back pack when I am not at work. The exacto blade is 0.5 mm thick and the spare blades came in a nice little click closed storage box about the size of the blade.

Small tough tool for prying or cutting with exacto knife blade.
This is a small item, a few inches long, I purchased to add to my collection of small items that would fit on a key chain to cover as many functions as I could think of a need for when away from my main sets of tools and other items. In reality the keychain has become too heavy to carry around in my pocket but can be detached and left in my car or other area. Still have found a use for the items on it which are kept together. It says that it has 3 blades in the ad, it actually has just one blade, the light duty pointed exacto type blade and some replacements for it. A bit misleading I think. Also the exacto knife works but is not made for heavy duty work at all, few exacto knifes are, but a bit odd to use in a tool that uses a heavy duty concept like a pry bar. Not sure what I will use that for but so be it.I bought this mainly for the pry bar function and bottle cap opener. The two flat head screw drivers are the ends of the pry bar and the phillips is on the opposite end of the unit. They work, but I have a small one inch square tool sold here that has 19 tools in one and many flat and cross blade screw drivers included plus tiny pliers and strippers. So this tool really has very limited functions in my opinion. It's strongest ones being the prybar and bottle opener. The exacto blade I can't imagine a use for but if I need one it will be there I guess. The screw drivers are just not as useful as another set I carry that is keychain size. So don't expect this to do too many things too well. It is only a good tool if you understand it's limitations and what it's strong points are. I knew before I bought it I would only use a few functions, so I was not surprised I have limited uses for it. It is strong and decent Gerber quality. It was also under 10 bucks so I thought it was a reasonable price when I purchased it. This is something one always has to consider when reading reviews left by customers, the price they paid for the item may not be what the current price is which may change the rating as far as value. While this tool only has a few useful functions for me by using this item for those functions it can help save other items getting damaged by attempting to use them for the same purpose. For example the pry bar this has, if you are like me and could use a small pry bar and don't have one handy you will use a screwdriver tip or knife blade or some other tool not made for the purpose and likely damage it. The pry bar on this thing is not long so you won't get too much leverage on it but it will help save other tools from damage and remove a nail or another use that is not asking too much of such a small item. It does feel strong and I think it would be very difficult to bend the pry bar, so I think it is strong just small. Then you have a bottle cap opener, plenty strong to do that job. There are the "screwdrivers" previously mentioned. Finally you have a hidden pointed exacto type blade which is folded in to the side of the tool hidden. This is not heavy duty but made for the delicate tasks any other exacto type blade would be used for, fine detail work mostly. It comes with a few replacement blades. And of course the whole thing fits on a keychain. So while it only has a few functions it is strong and small and inexpensive and may help save you from damaging other tools by using this instead. These small items are certainly not going to take the place of a larger more heavy duty tool, for example a Leatherman type tool, or in my case I have a SOG multi tool that can do many things and are larger and have more leverage. But for small tools a few inches long or smaller these keychain items can help you do a lot of tasks without taking much space when you are away from your main larger collection of tools. I keep a set of these small tools with me in a glove box wherever I go so I at least have the use of their limited capabilities when I am away from my large tool collection.I have several tiny tools on a keychain set that can do a heck of a lot of things. This is just one of about 8. By itself it is not going to do too many things but did a couple well enough to add it to the collection.I gave it 4 stars because it does the few things I needed it to do as well as expected and it was on sale. I guess some have had different expectations of this item and that has led to disappointment. Or perhaps overestimated the strength of an light duty exacto knife. So I think your being happy with this purchase depends on your having realistic expectations of it's capabilities and it's ability to fulfill your needs. It is not a one tool that does it all by any means. Just a few things pretty well for me.I would suggest anyone thinking about buying this item to consider it's actual size, the limitations of the small number of features and if they think the price is fair. Having incorrect expectations of an item will lead to a disappointing purchase. If it fits your needs and budget as it did in my case then all is well.
