I was expecting something more
It was decent but, I had higher expectations. Not really psychological thriller. Just an egotistical Shrink who kept failing at every corner. Kinda reminds me of my mom before she lost her license to practice and her own company after getting hooked on her own patients meds then moved on to harder stuff. Sad really! She was good up until a certain point that she created and realized we already knew the "Real" her and what she had done to us kids and our Dad. She was a lying, manipulative thief and an adulterer. I did however learn a lot from her that benefitted me in almost every aspect. She put me in the psyche ward when I had Cancer because she thought I overdosed on all my meds but, I just dumped them out because I didn't like the way they made me feel and I stopped all treatments of Chemo too. I was 17 with a rare cancer that I beat on my my own terms and I was able too manipulate my way out of the psyche ward within less than a month. Transition takes time, so I slowly gave them what they wanted to see and hear. When I explained to her how I did it and the steps it took, the look on her face was priceless. She tried getting me put back in but, she failed miserably without any proof of my actions. Should have never been put in there in the 1st place but, she made me out to be a danger to myself and others. Sorry, you lost by underestimating me! That is the only mistake it takes for others too lose against me or anyone for that matter.

Crazy As Hell
There is nothing like having a movie capture your attention from start to finish leaving you breathless once the credits start rolling. For myself I gravitate towards thrillers, horror and deep mind twisting movies rather than sappy love stories where the ending is often typical: Boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl again (boring!)Movies that leave you on edge and make you think are more stimulating, as you ponder the possible "What ifs" as the plot thickens. I like movies that force me to watch them again so that I can catch what I possibly missed the first time around.Crazy As Hell (2002) with Eriq LaSalle left me breathless as well as curious. Just who was this Satan character and why did he end up at the mental institution of all places. The ending? Well I won't give it away, but you will find yourself replaying the scene a few times to understand what was really going on. To be honest, I still don't know! That is the allure with this movie!Every time I watch it, I get more from the movie. Imagine the Devil needing psychiatric help....Nice plot.....Now I'm going to read the book...

Good acting and better than expected
It's hard to say anything specific without spoilers, but this is a very well-acted (by some name actors) story. I didn't think that the ending was any surprise. In fact, it seemed inevitable early on in the film. But the story is so well-told that even if you see where it's leading it's a worthwhile exploration. This is better than much of what's on Prime.

the point is
the point is not the writers understanding of mental illness-it is actually his/her understanding of the god complex some doctors succumb to. the dr is ironically battling his own emotional demons and while purportedly thoroughly understanding and trying to "treat" the societally recognized mental patients-failing miserably. i think it is a well thought out script, about people who think they have all of the answers trying to impress their ideas upon society while not having a freaking insite to their own failings and shortcomings resulting in them looking like complete idiots; you cannot make someone else whole if you are fragmented yourself -you need to have your own affairs in order before you start trying to "help" someone else achieve mental bliss and do not assume you have any idea what someone elses hell maybe or how they should deal with it because you have a piece of paper stating you are a dr.excellent movie!

This is going to be watched again in a few years, just to see what I missed.
Although the storyline and crux of this movie is easily figured out, it is compelling and very well acted, organized, directed, developed and well, pretty much a whole package. I loved the characters, the development and interactions. Well written and screened. Thank you all for sharing your art with me.

It's Like that one Twilight Zone Episode....
Would you take the tiniest chance (say 2%) that Hell is REAL? And that if you die in your sin you would end up there? It is REAL & everyone that doesn't accept the loving salvation of Jesus Christ will end up there....

Good Movie
This movie was great! I have watched it twice to look for all of the clues and meanings, it makes you think about things and what someone might consider being a good person far from the truth and being deceived by one's self righteousness.
