Just what I needed for day hikes and mountain biking!
This is my 2nd Osprey pack and I'm very impressed when examining their products. Their attention to detail is outstanding and I'm a very particular person. I got back in to mountain biking this year and my other Osprey pack is just too big and bulky for this purpose, I needed something more sleek and purpose designed. This pack is just right! Holds plenty of water (100 oz.) in a high quality bladder. Also has plenty of room for tools, snacks etc without being excessively bulky. The straps are comfortable and the bright colors of the interior make it easy to find little parts and tools. I carry a lot of parts and tools! In fact I get laughed at for it but I'd rather carry the extra weight than have to take a long walk out of the woods.I also do more than my fair share of crashing, often landing on my back and this is holding up extremely well, no noticeable signs of wear yet. The helmet lock feature is very handy, I sometimes get off the bike and hike along the creek for a while when I'm out riding. This feature keeps the helmet very secure and snug, it doesn't flop around when attached. This pack also serves me well for day hikes, plenty of water and has room for snacks and an extra layer. The Nalgene hydration bladders in Osprey packs are fantastic, much better than what you get in other brands. My only complaint is that it's quite easy to bite through the silicon mouth piece causing it to leak. I did this on my first one but was able to order a 2 pack of replacements for cheap and have learned to be a little more careful.I'm very pleased with this pack and plan to keep it for a long time. I'm also a big fan of Osprey's other products. Highly recommended!

Light and comfortable for trail running
The Viper 9 was my top choice for a trail running hydration backpack because of its storage capacity and 3L bladder. Its pockets are very conducive to the type of items I need to carry, i.e., cell phone, car keys, extra gloves, hat, sunglasses, energy gels, etc. I like the location of the pockets and the types that vary from a secure zipper for keys, phone etc, and then the open rip pocket that you can stuff clothing and warmer things into quickly without having to mess with a zipper while running. The 3L bladder is large enough to get you through a decent length run, and its fairly easy to clean and store afterwards.Reason for a 4 star is that the magnetic holder for the hydration mouth valve isn't strong enough to hold onto during the bouncing and pounding of running. The tubing just ends up flopping around and I have to tuck it into the chest strap that is attached. Works great for cycling and non jarring activities like walking, but for trail running, it would need to be stronger.

Good Pack
This backpack is very good quality, but I had o return it because it was too small. I ended up getting a bigger one, since this one did not meet my needs.

Great Festival Companion
Just got back from the Electric Forest festival and this pack was my loyal companion the whole time. Its just the right size for me - I'm 6'2" and it looks pretty small on my back (which I like) but can still hold everything I need. I would fill it up with water halfway (1.5 liters) and it would last a whole day of dancing and sipping. The material seems tough and lightweight, I really like the foam on the straps and back pad. The "stuff pocket" that is not zippered came in surprisingly handy for stashing a sweater, bandana, and extra water bottle for friends. My favorite part has to be the tiny pocket on the left strap - its the perfect size to hold my earplugs so I can quickly pop them in and out and never lose them! I've only had it for a week (haven't got a chance to try running or biking with it), but hopefully it will serve me well for years to come.

This is a great pack, durable and large
This is a great pack, durable and large. It has plenty of pockets and will actually be replacing the backpack I use to carry the families stuff around on trips with this hydration pack. The water reservoir is also easily removable providing a large multi use pocket if you don't need the reservoir for some reason.

I couldn't be happier with this product
I couldn't be happier with this product. The size is excellent for a day hike/ride, and there are tons of features that make riding or hiking very convenient. There is a nice little phone holder on one strap. I love the magnet that attaches the bladder line to the shoulder strap. The bladder itself is vey well made and HUGE although not bulky. I never run out of water, and I drink a LOT while riding. Really fantastic product overall, one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a great day hydration pack.

Well designed and well made.
I've purchased a few Osprey packs and have found they're some of the best packs, especially for the money. I mean, Arcteryx is generally the highest quality money can buy, but Osprey is some of the best value money can buy. The materials are solid and the build is good. I like the design since it has enough frame to hold everything in place, but it doesn't add a lot of weight or take up a lot of space. And the ergonomics are good. It's comfortable and the seams are smooth.

I also like the fact that it has plenty of storage space ...
This was my first hydration pack and I can say it has made moutian biking so much easier. There is so many teens well reading that I forget that it's on my back. The pack hardly moves at all well riding. I also like the fact that it has plenty of storage space to carry item for a day advanture. Also the 3 liter bladder is definitely bug enough to last for long bike rides. There's also no taste of plastic well drinking the water. The only thing I don't like about the bladDer is it is hard to clean. Overall a great pack for all you outdoor needs.
