HDMI to AV Converter

Once upon a time, I bought a VGA-to-S-Video/Composite converter to be able to use my old TV with a laptop outputting VGA. When I bought a more-capable laptop which output HDMI, I added an HDMI-to-VGA adapter to the mix. Well, everything gets older over time, and some part of the converter chain between HDMI and S-Video died. So I bought this to solve the problem with fewer parts. And it works fine. It can be used directly with the BD Player, which means that it not only identifies itself acceptably but handles HDCP (or, perhaps, identifies itself in a way that does not require HDCP) as well. Installation is simple -- as long as you notice the smaller HDMI port used for power (the more prominent large appears to be, indeed, to be available to power some other device), and have the proper cables (3 RCA-to-RCA cables, separate or joined together -- I am using an old stereo audio pair for sound and a separate cable for video). The picture quality is fine, where "fine" means" just what you would expect from a now very old TV. Color accuracy appears to be fine as well. Just make sure the RCA plugs are fully inserted (all six of them), as loose plugs can cause problems.

Makes a very nice video image with good sound and sync. Started up with my Roku Express on the first try. The metal case allows it to dissipate the heat generated. It was never more than warm to touch. Good product. The other product I tried had a plastic case, got too hot to touch, and did not have that great an image anyway. If I had to use one of those I would need to glue it to a metal plate with heat transfer glue.

I set the HDMI to RCA converter up for my Chromecast 4K model GZRNL purchased in January 2023 for a Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT) television. The TV beeped and showed a graphic telling me to connect my Chromecast device to a power outlet. The Chromecast device could not be powered by the USB 5V Power Output on this HDMI to RCA converter. Maybe others have had success using the USB 5V Power Output with older models of Chromecast, but the HDMI to RCA converter did not power my Chromecast 4K model GZRNL purchased in 2023. I bought this device over other options for the power output (cost more too) and was disappointed it did not work in my case. Once Chromecast was plugged into a regular outlet with its own power adaptor, the converter worked as advertised with no issues.

Very surprised at how well it converts the HDMI audio to analog audio and still produces excellent surround sound! It is very easy to hook up and its small size allows it to sit behind the receiver out of sight. I powered my from a switched outlet on the receiver so it automatically turns off when the receiver is off and on when the receiver is on. Customer service is excellent. My unit developed a problem so I contacted the seller and they rushed a replacement unit in a couple of days. I was going to upgrade my stereo receiver, but it is still working very well. I will now continue to use (and enjoy) it with the HDMI audio to analog converter

I bought this converter to use a fire stick on an old school 65" projection TV to entertain elementary kids and this thing did the trick. I have no issues with it getting hot. It powers the fire stick and extended days without kids I unplug the USB cord from the fire stick, but I never had to unplug the converter itself. There is a short delay of information transfer when using the fire stick remote and visual on screen. My solution, after pressing a button on the remote wait 2-3 seconds before pressing it again.

This item could not maintain the picture and kept saying low internet. I was disappointed and would like a refund. I contacted the manufacture with like response, not helpful at all.

I have a stereo receiver from Onkyo. As unbelievable as it seems, home theater sets do NOT have a Bluetooth transmitter! I already had a little Bluetooth transmitter thing, but I needed something that would allow me to connect via RCA jacks. Lots of inputs on the Onkyo, not too many outputs. The Onkyo has an HDMI out, and sure enough this gadget stripped out the audio and sent it to the RCA jacks, which the Bluetooth transmitter connects to. Bingo, now the music from Amazon comes out on the speaker on the back porch.

This worked great for a couple months. I DJ 2-3 nights a week and use this to separate my laptop sound from video so it has to work flawlessly and it did at first. Then one night as I set my DJ stuff up all I could get was static. Tried multiple times and ways to get my sound working thinking maybe it was the laptop. I then swapped this out with my spare other brand backup one and immediately had sound again and still using the backup because this one is garbage. Far beyond return window as COVID cause this to sit unused for quite sometime so it’ll just get thrown away unfortunately...unless the company wants to do the right thing and send a replacement
