If you're a beginner, it's easy to figure out. Guitar Center can help too.
Great for beginners, but I'm a paralyzed Disabled Veteran so I took my Guitar to Guitar Center for there experts to put it on. Another way to learn is getting the Guitar Book here on Amazon called "Electric Guitar Book 1" by Hal Leonard. I learned a chapter every 2 weeks to include tablature and the actual notes on the music scale. These stickers are a huge help at first.. It helps you to develop your ear and eyes to recognize every note on the fretboard. Learning the Fretboard as well as recognizing what the Note sounds like is a huge step to becoming a smooth player. Practice everyday for at least an hour. It is take two myself because of the also go over the previous material to lock it in the memory. One of the most important things to help your fingers is doing the fretboard finger walk every day. Which is, first finger first fret low E string, second finger send fret low e, 3rd finger 3rd fret low E and 4th finger 4th fret low E. Then just walk up the fretboard using these fingers on the specific frets. Go real slow, calling out each note as you play the string. One you finger walk through the other strings to the High E, slide up to the second fret, do this again. Repeat until you get to the highest frets. This will help get your finger muscles developed as well as ear training to each note. I'm 55 and this is easy peasey.

Looking forward to reducing the learning curve
I love the idea and am looking forward to applying this as I learn to play. I have about 5 years background on the piano so this visual is great to connect the dots on theory, note placement, sharps, flats and chord progressions. It can already tell it's going to help lesson the learning curve. A couple reasons I deducted a star in my review: (1) both the product documentation and website support could be better. Being to new to the guitar and even playing songs, I was looking forward to going to redbluemusic(dot)com to learn more about how to apply the NeckNotes and then use them as I learned simple songs. The videos are old and not great and the chord charts are something I can print off by Googling 'guitar chords'. (2) The application of the stickers would have taken me hours had I not figured out a better way (perhaps this could be a product improvement?!). The static kept pulling the stickers onto the fret board so I couldn't push them down under the strings. I was about ready to smash my guitar until I looked over to see a letter opener sitting on my desk...simply attach the far end of the sticker to the tip of the letter opener and slip it under all the strings - peel off the sticker and apply. It cut my application time to 10 minutes.

Great after a month of use. Ordering again for another guitar. --One Year Update
I've been playing guitar for 5 months and I've had these stickers on my guitar for about a month. It's a bit busy to look at for me. I used a magic marker and colored in all of the sharp/flat markers and it's much easier to look at. It brought together a lot of theory for me as I noted the pattern of notes against scale patterns, what notes were in chords, why some chords could be played different way, etc... The price is high, but my guitars are much more expensive. It's been great to my electric, so ordering another set for my acoustic. I've seen earlier reviews saying the printing came off after little use. I haven't had that problem. However... I also don't push the string all the way to the fret board. /******A year later*****/ I put these on 2 guitars about a year ago. When I took them off, all was fine except... One guitar was brand new when I put them on. . I was also a little upset to see what appeared to be the stain of my fret board on the stickers. There were also color differences in the neck wood where the stickers were. I immediately contacted the seller with my concerns. Within half an hour and little more than the questions of my concern, the seller replied to me with the address of a local music shop with a luthier that was waiting for me to bring my guitar in. They even gave me the hours of operation. I mean... who does that anymore? If only every seller/merchant worked this way. I felt like my problem wasn't a problem for me at all... it was their problem and they were more than willing to address it. As it turns out, the stain on the stickers was the oil from the oil treatment put on my fret board when it was set up. The barely visible marks on the neck were because I put the stickers on it when it was new. Oil, dirt, light, etc... had darkened the wood around the stickers. The luthier said they would disappear with a little time. They offered to set up my guitar again to replace the oil treatment, but I declined. I was so happy that it was made to be so easy. Such a great experience. Every merchant/seller should take note of a seller that stands by their product this way. A++++++++

A Worthwhile Teaching Tool & Learning Aid
Do NOT let some jerk, who already knows his music theory, chide you over using these. Screw 'em! I've been playing since 1988 and I put a set of these on a cheap practice guitar and they've helped me learn more about where notes are. I love the idea of the colors too because it helps when visualizing the neck and where the notes should be so you can link patterns qand scales together in your mind's eye much faster than trying to play slower just sing the note one at a time. Seriously. If you know a young kid or you yourself are just starting out on gutiar, do yourself a favor and get a set of these. Sure they're not cheap and while they look flimsy they're not (they stick!) The idea is to learn where the notes are on the neck so why not use these? I love 'em and do not give a rat's patootie if someone chides me about it.

then I highly recommend the NeckNotes
If you are learning to play the guitar, then I highly recommend the NeckNotes. These adhesive backed strips let you know the names of the notes you are playing. For me, they have made it so much easier to find notes that I am looking for - especially the notes that are on the higher frets. For example, I know where the G is on the first string, but I was having a hard time finding it on the second string. With the NeckNotes you can quickly find whatever notes you are searching for. I am sure that I'll eventually know where the notes are without having to look - but in the meantime, the NeckNotes add enjoyment to my learning experience. I was able to install the neck notes without having to remove the strings. At first I was concerned that I'd have to remove the strings to install them, but I was able to carefully slip them into place with the strings in place.

This product is easy to use
This product is easy to use, and sticks well and the overall concept is 100 %. The only issue is with the durability of this - I have realized that the color-layer , or printed surface of the sticking part, is not robust and wear off quite fast, especially if your nails is a bit on the long side. For this outrageous price-tag , a much more robust product is expected... However, I have tried solving this issue by put a layer of clear sticking tape over each guitar - sticker on the guitar neck, and it does help and protect the color-layer of peeling of.

Useful for learning
I bought a very inexpensive used electric guitar specifically to add these to to help me learn the names of notes at position. I was able to get them on the whole fretboard by only loosening the strings a bit. They have been very useful and are helping quite a bit---however-- in my case, I find they seem to make it a bit more difficult to play songs I KNOW. I think that is because it gives a totally different visual reference from any "normal" fretboard, the multicolor sticker dots become a maze while obscuring the regular fret markers. So, I suggest you do as I did and buy a different guitar for these (or any) fret note stickers, and keep playing a "regular look" guitar for practice as well. Oh, and after I ordered the, I found there were much less expensive varieties of these available, not that these were "that' bad.

Terrific Learning Aid
These are very helpful if you're trying to learn the notes on the guitar! Helps a lot with the pentatonic scale. They were confusing at first, so I got a second set and placed them in the center, between the frets. Putting them up against the frets was disorientating to me. Put them on my older "practice" guitar and put the neon colored strings from "DR Neon" on while I was at it. I really like my system but I always make it a point to practice on a regular guitar at the end of the practice session so I don't get too dependent on these learning aids. The Dr Neon strings sound GREAT, by the way. Nice and brite. Both products well worth the price.

This product is easy to apply to the fretboard even with the strings ...
I mistakenly ordered the standard acoustic guitar version so I suppose in 2017 I will have to surprise myself with an acoustic guitar. This product is easy to apply to the fretboard even with the strings in place. I subsequently bought the classical guitar version. For beginners with 0-3 years experience playing guitar these necknote guides help reinforce finger position for each note.

It provided by the confirmation I needed instantly that I was playing the right note, cord or scale. It is helping with learning the fret board at an increased rate.

The missing link!
Great product! Well thought out. This will be a transformative tool for students, teachers and schools. Guitarists need to see patterns on the fingerboard in order to play, remember and improvise. Unfortunately those patterns are not included on the instrument. Seeing the note names and colour coding puts you light years ahead especially if you already know some theory, or read music. Even if you dont have that background all patterns and songs you do learn will be much easier to understand and remember with NeckNotes. Finally a simple effective system to clear up the mystery around how exactly patterns shift at the b string! Definitely recommending this to students at my music school! Thanks!!
