Rode NTG-1 Shotgun Condenser Microphone,Black | Supercardioid condenser with XLR-3M output and WSVM shield for film, television and ENG

I use these for recording podcasts. I know most people go for a dynamic mic for these situations, but I like shotgun mics much more.These pick up all the qualities of our voices perfectly. They're extremely directional, and background noise isn't much of a concern (I should point out that I use these in an acoustically treated room, so there are no echoes bouncing off the walls).When I compare my audio to professional level podcasts while wearing studio monitoring headphones, there is no discernible difference. I've even let a couple friends that do mixing/mastering for a living, and they don't notice any difference as well. I'm sure if any self-proclaimed "audiophiles" read this, they'll heavily disagree. Their anxiety levels will rise, and they'll feel the desire to comment on this to tell me I'm wrong and that this is just an "average mic you noob". Don't listen to these people. This is a good mic, and with the right settings, recording environment, and compression, your audio will sound superb.As a reminder, I use these for podcasts. I cannot vouch for how they perform with recording musical instruments, except for a jaw harp, which it records beautifully.

Great microphone for the money! I create tutorial videos where I stand behind a small table and walk people through how to change settings on various cameras. I have this microphone mounted on a boom pole, just out of frame. The audio is crisp and clear; perfect for the podcast/tutorial videos.

Works great. Needs power supply so you have to get that too. Otherwise, it's pretty darn good.

Have been very impressed with the audio quality even compared to the Rodelink Filmmakers Kit wireless Lavaliere. The shotgun mic had an impressive audio range for the price point and sounds great for event videography and basic corporate work. I would highly recommend the microphone. I really like that it works on phantom power, I never have to fuss with looking for batteries for one more of my video gear devices.

Had this microphone for several years. For its price range, very high quality, low noise, picks up the sounds I want. With a deadcat, can record in the wind with no problem. Professional-grade sound means that this microphone can be used in high-end applications, even for theatrical movies.

Sound quality is excellent. I put this mike on my back-up Canon X40. The mike is actually too long for this camera if you use it outdoors with s dead cat cover. When not zoomed, hairs from the dead cat are constantly getting into the frame. But for a larger camera body, this mike should work fine.

Here I was buying a mic that has an industry best 10 year warranty, it is priced right and has been well reviewed all over the world only to find out that the person(EXPRESS MEDIA) selling misrepresented themselves(EXPRESS MEDIA) on Amazon. When I tried to register the mic on Rode's website I was told EXPRESS MEDIA WAS NOT authorized to sell Rode and the mic wouldn't be covered under the 10 year warranty. Well, that sealed the deal for me, I don't support grey market goods(FROM EXPRESS MEDIA), goods being sold by gypsy's(EXPRESS MEDIA) who aren't authorized to sell by the manufacture. I have seen issues among my colleagues before and I wasn't about to risk it here. I realize it isn't a lot of money but in this economy, working hard every day and saving money to get by, I am NOT getting stuck if I have issues in the future. I like to be secure and know I am covered, there is value in buying from genuine authorized resellers! Stay away from anyone like this(EXPRESS MEDIA), trust me you don't want to get burned(FROM BUYING FROM EXPRESS MEDIA)

Nice mic. Reviews were spot on. Great sound and easy set-up. I plug into a Zoom h4n and works like a charm. Remember though it doesn't come with a cable, so make sure you grab one or you won't be able to use out of the box.

ガンマイクの定番と言えばゼンハイザー416ですがRODEのNTG-1も負けず劣らずいい音を拾ってくれます。それでいて値段は数分の１コストパフォーマンスは最高です。普通にブームにつけてのガンマイク使用の他、カメラマイクとしても使用しています。ワンオペロケの時には正面に立ってもらってのインタビューなどはそのままでもいい声を拾ってくれます。

Till now i haven't/couldn't use it because it requires an external recorder with with an xlr 48 + phantom power to function,you'll need zoom h4n,h4n pro, tascam dr ....

Bought mine to attach to an expensive Canon XA10 video camera by using the XLR camera phantom power. I've found it's very directional and with the help of an attached Rode WS6 deluxe furry wind shield (designed to fit NTG-1 & 2) it works very well in slightly windy outdoor scenarios with the gain turned down, those horrible rumble noises with wind blowing over the mic can be eradicated with a few adjustments via the camera controls.It came well packaged with a standard foam wind shield with the Rode logo printed on it and it came with a nice zipped pouch to store it in too. The Rode NTG-1 is phantom power only and the NTG-2 has the option of being battery powered. This is a pro-mic and if you're into pro video work, then this mic is essential to complement your videos. You'll need to buy the cable separately, depending on length required.LATEST UPDATE:The mic lasted me 1 year and 10 months then it no longer worked. They are very delicate items, however, the do apparently have a repair service which I've not yet looked into and could do without the extra cost.

Ottimo microfono, avevo letto tante recensioni su questo prodotto e dopo averlo provato ho potuto notare personalmente le sue grandi capacità, ben costruito e robusto, montato sulla mia videocamera con qualche piccolo accorgimento (in quanto l' alloggiamento microfono della videocamera è leggermente più largo rispetto al diametro del Rode), ho notato subito una grande differenza, la traccia audio è molto più pulita e potente in ogni occasione. Ha in dotazione la custodia morbida, il supporto per l' asta reggimicrofono con adattatore e la cuffia, se volessi proprio trovare un difetto, il kit non comprende il cavo di collegamento alla videocamera, da acquistare separatamente......

Se trata de un muy buen producto en relación a su precio. Particularmente lo uso con una grabadora Zoom H5 y el resultado para la grabación de un cortometraje o un documental de bajo coste es más que aceptable. Posicionándolo correctamente y con una ganancia en la grabadora intermedia se obtiene un sonido limpio y de calidad.
