Great tool to add to your gear
Excellent little knife, very sharp, holds and edge quite well. Great little 'skinner' or small game & fish knife, also a lite quality blade to add to back pack gear for general use. I like the blade shape also, more functional that most would think. A bare bones package, nothing fancy, but very durable. Don't compare to more custom or higher end knives, functionality & blade steel in this one shines. I own many excellent knives of very high quality, fit, & finish & have added this to my 'tool' kit and it rides right there with the $200 & $300 knives. Have liked several of the Kershaw knives, what drew me to this series of knives was the Sandvik 14c 28 steel. I usually prefer tool steels, however I am a big fan of Sandvik12c27 for stainless steel uses. Properly heat treated it is an excellent ( razor sharp ) & easy steel to re-sharpen. I have read about the 14c28 from the Sandvik website and will say it is as they describe. This steel has a great future for knife blade use in my opinion. Have owned this knife & other Kershaw's with this steel for a couple months now, using it everyday, can't find a fault with it. The only complaint is the sheath, it sucks, and it is the same with other fixed blades in this series. It is adequate, but be careful with it, these knives will slice it up in short order. Don't let that stop you from owning one of these, the knife & Sandvik steel make this knife worth a lot more than the price paid, sheath or not.... Hope Kershaw adds a little longer blade length to this knife & keep both in their line up, would make for a great 'set'. Have used knives professionally most of my life, not easily swayed by the 'steel' of the month,.. or 'knife' of the month. This is a good one, for people who are afraid to spend too much for 'just a knife', but need one. Once you have owned a good knife, you will begin to understand the difference.

Great knife
I absolutely love this knife. The orange is a great change from the black g-10 we're all used to. The blade shape is versatile, and the blade is small enough to be used for everyday tasks. This blade steel is much preferred to 8cr13mov, and aus-8. Good corrosion resistance, and easy to sharpen. All around a great little sheath knife. One that you can wear on your belt without looking scary, or one for younger outdoors man like myself. The only thing that lets this knife down is the less than adequate sheath. The sheath is a low cost leather sheath that is rather fragile and won't stand up to hard use.

A knife with lots to like.
This is an easy to carry knife that does most jobs well. If you want to cut up a moose, you might want a bigger knife, but for most of the jobs most of us will be doing, this one fits the bill. With the orange handle and anti slip grip, it's hard to lose and hard to drop. Well worth the cost.

Great field knife.
This knife is well made. IT came extremely sharp and fits nicely in my hand. I think that it could handle any field or camp job except the largest toughest ones. The leather sheath it came with should have been a little nicer but is adequate. I am surprized to see that Kershaw has cut it from its line.
