Excellent @@
This is it! As a Family Physician and understudy of contemplation and care, I would prescribe this book to anybody working with sorrow or state of mind issue or anybody wishing to turn out to be increasingly humane toward themselves as well as other people. This book and Dr. Goldstein both merit 10+ Stars. Peruse it and Practice it. You will be better for it.

Not ideal for those with acute/chronic depression
I have been through a very tough time this year - mainly very serious health issues which have left me with anxiety and depression.Whilst in an acute state of depression, this is not a helpful book. I think the author means well but doesn’t truly understand that it’s all very well saying “get some exercise, eat well, rest well, be with friends “But the truth is, when suffering from PTSD, as I am, leading to depression, these words feel too much. It feels like the author is talking from training, not from truly understanding what’s its like to feel that you cannot even get out of bed, let alone pick up the phone to a friend or go for a walk. So, in conclusion, I think this book will probably work for those who are suffering mild depression and can rationalise - not those who are in deeper trouble.

Concise overview of the causes and effects of depression
This is a concise book which gives a clear explanation of the cause and effect of depression, anxiety and panic attacks. It has lots of useful help offered to both the sufferer and the carer. If you don't understand the difference between the various types of illness, then this will help you to differentiate between them.

Below average
Would not recommend purchasing this book. The advice about panic attacks is very inaccurate, it suggest they only happen when something bad has happened to you. I don’t feel this book has helped me at all.

Don't waste your money on information widely available
Doesn't contain any information that you could not find, for free, elsewhere on the internet. I'm puzzled as to how this book has received so many 5 star reviews over such a short period of time. Also, the basic grammatical and spelling errors make parts difficult to read. If you are suffering from depression save your money and put it towards professional help which will be much more valuable.

Excellent self sustaining and situation adaptability book
Excellent book to read to learn the art of bringing the depression under control.A great idealogy by the author to specifically explain the situation and the art of adaptability.Felt live speaking to a friend when I read this book as it very very simple in terms and I just read this book in less than 4 hours during my flight journey.Amazing thing is it tends to make me read Again and again

Really great advice
There are some excellent tips and and advice to help you to recognise feelings of depression in yourself or in others. It provides great ways to support a loved one through their depression. Recognising their depression and seeking medical help is the first and most important step. This book helps when doing this.

Almost no help at all
Just so basic. It is more like a guide to depression for absolute beginners, than a self help book. Almost no use at all I’m afraid to say, very disappointing.

This self help guide has taught me that I am not alone in my battle with anxiety. It promotes positive messages throughout. Through cleverly placed reflective questions and thinking points through the book as signposts, it lead me to reflect deeply within myself. The most important message was that anxiety and depression sufferers must be proactive and help ourselves. Feel good tips, quizzes and step by step tips and tricks to do through the day make the info accessible and easy to understand. It gave me targets to complete to help me overcome my battles with depression and anxiety and beating my panic attacks. These were all done in little steps. I now feel more able to be sociable. very good read to help yourself get over depression
The author has given pointers and solutions to first determine if you may be having depression and then how to overcome it. We all feel low from time to time but it is not always that we are under depression. It is all about recognizing those persistent signs and trying to come out of that depression. There is a short quiz which will help to seek out those early signs of depression. The author has covered all the topics from how to determine the signs of depression to coping with it and how to overcome it. Helpful read.
