Best Product of its Kind Out There
I purchased a pair of these for my 8 yr old in 2011, and people continue to ask me where I got them. I've been referring people to this product without hesitation for 2 years, so I thought I should write a review. My son has ADHD and CONSTANTLY loses things--esp. his glasses. I needed to find a cord that he could attach to them when he wanted to take them off, but my challenge was that he has sensory issues with tags, cords, buttons, etc. I found these and was optimistic because they are really the only thing out there WITHOUT a tail or cord hanging on the back. They have exceeded my expectations. This is an ingenious and quality product. They are a very soft thick cotton fabric (like a sweater or thick sock), so the tube-ends that slip over the arms of the glasses are nice and cushiony...now my son doesn't complain about the arms of his glasses rubbing on the tops of his ears. He's been wearing them every day for 2 years, can easily adjust them himself, and keeps them on a snug setting so it fits gently around his head and doesn't even rest on his neck (they are created so the glasses will stay on during active sports). We've handwashed and air dried them several times, and they have held up perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend this product. I'm not sure why the other reviewer's didn't fit the arms of her glasses, hers must be quite narrow. They fit my son's kid-size glasses without a problem. (If they didn't, I'd probably handwash it, put it inside a tube sock to keep it protected, then put it in the drier. I'm sure the cotton would shrink at least a little, and maybe help them stay on.)

Need better instructions on installing
The Chums No Tail Eyewear Retainer seemed like the perfect solution to me. There were no instructions with the packaging, so I assumed they would just easily slip over the end of my glasses. NOT SO.The first 1/2" is very tight and for my glasses it was a 15 minute struggle that ended in me giving up. My glasses have soft rubberized ends on the stems which make them comfortable on my ears. The rubberized ends are also very pliable making it difficult to get the end of the Chums on to them. (I also tried them on two other pairs of different glasses and had similar problems.) I read a Q&A response were someone used a pen to stretch the opening first. That didn't work for me. I was thinking of returning the retainer when I got the idea to use a pair of medium sized needle nose pliers (Pic1). Slip one end of the chums on the first inch or so of the pliers (Pic2). Open the jaws of the pliers to create a larger opening in the end of the Chums (Pic3). While holding the pliers open, slip one end of your glass stems into the opening you created and push the glass stem into place in the Chums (Pic4). Release the pliers and pull them out while holding on to the Chums and your glasses (Pic5). Easily adjust to your liking and then repeat on the other side (Pic6). Note: one star deducted for lack of notice and for lack of good instructions.

Chumming!
When I had gotten this in, I was quite skeptical how to put it on. The ends have some thick thing that is pretty hard to push through. But when you get pass it, it will hold onto it VERY well. I bought this to ride onto roller coasters. More specifically, Six Flags Magic Mountain. They have crazy roller coasters and all the rides, the product held onto the glasses like nothing! Try not to buy this if you have thin frames though, it will most likely slip off!

Worked perfectly for me
I went white-water rafting with my family and needed something to keep my glasses safely attached to my head. My eyeglasses are prescription and have transition lenses that turn into sunglasses when I'm outside. That's great, but they're too pricey to risk losing them in the river. This retention strap held them in perfectly. It was comfortable but snug. My glasses kind of fall down my nose most of the time (even though I have plenty of nose for them to rest on), but this strap kept them right where they belong.I thought the tension of this strap would be annoying or uncomfortable, but I forgot about the strap right away.We rafted two long days and this strap did what it needed to do. I got tossed out of the raft once by accident and jumped out to swim plenty of times. My glasses never moved at all.

Glasses No Longer Slip
Yay, no more slipping glasses! I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was 12 years old, and the older I get, the heavier the prescription. Arms of glasses are almost always too short, so I used to spend a LOT of time pushing my glasses up, or re-adjusting at the vision center. It became really bad though when I went from single vision to progressive lenses - you HAVE to look through the lens a certain way, or they don't work. I would get headaches all the time because of my vision. Or my nose would ache, or my ears would hurt because in order for the optician to get them to stay put at all, they would really have to tighten them down hard. After looking for solutions for years I took a chance on these. It was a very weird feeling, not having to constantly adjust my glasses or fiddle with them! And liberating too! In fact my only complaint is that in order to take them on or off, I have to slide the adjuster, and my hair gets caught in it. NOT a big deal.I have the arms of my glasses inserted all the way to the temple in these, and the fabric feels really nice against my temples, and over my ears. I think this also helps with my slipping problem too. The only downside is the extra fabric makes my over-the-ear phone piece at work fall off easier. My blue tooth ear piece for my cell phone does not have that problem.

Perfect for Hiking
I bought one of these last year to keep my sunglasses from riding down my nose when I hike and sweat but with all the sweating, the color faded and got nasty even though I rinsed it regularly. I bought this one and am trying to rinse it more often but the color is already changing a little in certain points. It comes with the territory I guess. I use it for hiking so it gets tested and sweated in quite a bit. Another reason I like this is that I can take my sunglasses off and leave them around my neck if I am overheating, want to see something without them or it's not bright enough yet.
