Toolwiz Inner Tie Rod Removal Tool 3/8" Universal Low Profile 30-42mm

This definitely requires getting it into place and tightening the nuts every time you need to turn the tie rod, but this works like a charm without any quality issues. My tie rods were really tight and a normal tube-style extractor would not work. I required this and an extra extra long set of wrenches to get it off. It must have required at least 200 lb ft of force to get it off and it worked! After all was set and done, I did not see any visible marks that the metal was warping or any issues with the materials at all. I also did not have any issues getting this tool into place, although I did have to loosen it about twice every 20 degrees or so until i could loosen it by hand. Overall good little tool that I hopefully do not have to use for at least another 200K miles.

This tool is great, and has helped me with multiple vehicles. Had it for over half a year now and it works just fine.

Simple design, works well. May have interference with frame, but repositioning solves issue. Well worth the small cost compared to other tools

Bought this to remove the inner tie rods on a 1991 Toyota Corolla AE91. For the price even a single use is worth the money. It fit around the inner tie rod well and as other reviewers mentioned it is not necessary to tighten it too much just snugly enough. The nuts seem cheap but if you don’t over tighten them they will work and last longer. Installing it was simple just ensure it is done in a way that allows it to turn sufficiently in the direction needed. It looks good. I used it to remove and tighten both inner tie rods. It’s not a tool I anticipate I’ll use often but it did its job this time so I got my moneys worth. The material looks good and strong enough and the gripping area still looks good after use. Like most said the nuts look soft so be careful with that. Let’s see if how many more uses I get out of it.

This is the right piece for removing tie rod. Easy and simple. Stay away from long pipe stuff.

I bought this for an inner tie rod job where space was tight, and it made the job a lot easier than trying to use a regular wrench. The low-profile design helped me get into an area where there wasn’t much room to work, and the teeth grabbed the tie rod well enough to break it loose without constantly slipping. I also like that it covers a decent size range, so it’s more useful than a one-size tool. The main thing to watch is making sure it’s seated squarely before you put a lot of force on it. If it starts at an angle, it can want to walk off the part. Overall, it’s a handy tool for DIY front-end work and saved me a lot of frustration on the job. For something I may not use every week, it was still worth having in the toolbox.

I bought this to replace an inner tie rod end on my granddaughters Silverado after seeing it used in a youtube TRQ video. Looked like a great idea. The video showed the guy gingerly put it on and then turn it 1/4 turn (that is all you can turn this thing seeing that it's connected to your ratchet and extension). and then easily spin the tie rod off by hand. Mine wasn't so easy. I got the tool on the tie rod, positioned it so the square was on the bottom left, and turned it 1/4 turn, slid it back and the rod was still tight as hell. I ended up cranking it a quarter turn, repositioning it, and cranking it another quarter turn 4 more times. It was a PITA! I finally realized I could use my pipe wrench on the knucle of the tie rod and take it off a lot faster and easier. I would say if a pipe wrench won't break it free, then maybe this would do to break the bond, sort of like a breaker bar on lug nuts. But a pipe wrench and a hammer will do the same thing without all the repeat hand gymnastics this thing forces you to do. Especially if you're under a jacked up vehicle and don't have it on a lift. For the price, it was worth a try. But I'm now fairly certain I will never use this tool again. It's being returned.

Used this to remove an inner tie rod on a 2006 r50 mini. Couldn’t get the track rod off I think was the original one. Didn’t even know about this tool until I had the issue. Was sceptical because some people have had bad experiences with the tool not working. Fitted the tool over the nut and checked before trying to undo the nut. Undid the nut with no issues so for the price it’s earned its cost. Even if I don’t use it again it was worth it. So 5 stars

I used this inner tie rod removal tool on my 2014 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD, and it worked really well. It made removing the inner tie rod much easier and saved me a lot of time and effort. Very useful tool for DIY repairs, especially when working in a tight space. Definitely worth having.
