Probably the cheapest way to connect Arduinos short of wire, and with latency of under 1ms
These are awesome little boards and they cost almost nothing.Pin out is as follows (pin1 has the square box, and 2 is across from it etc.:1 23 45 67 8Functions as follows:1: Ground2: Vcc (3.3v)3: CE (Chip Enable)4: CSN (Chip Select Not) Active Low - SPI Chip Select function5: SCLK (Clock) - SPI Clock Function6: MOSI (Master Out Slave In) - SPI Data7: MISO (Master In Slave Out) - SPI Data8: IRQ (Interrupt) - Optional, but goes low to indicate that data has arrived, fault has occurred, or write buffer full.These work very well with the TMRh20 branch of the RF24 library. You can get this by searching RF24 in the Arduino library manager. Also look at RF24Network, that adds a networking layer on top of RF24, and RF24Mesh that adds a mesh network function on top of RF24Network. The examples with these libraries are very well done and easy to follow.If you're interested in using these with RPi, you can download the library from github. It has corresponding examples to the Arduino library, and it took only a couple of hours to have my RPi talking to my Arduino using a pair of these radios.You may also consider the PA + LNA (Power Amp + Low Noise Amp) version that is available from the same seller her. One of these is good to use as a hub for the integrated antenna version.

Working great
These units worked great. I thought they'd be cheap and only a few might work due to defects, but they all came out operational. Each one was individually packaged in antistatic bags.I've been using them as transceivers, one of which is in a USB dongle running through an Android tablet with an Arduino Nano, and the other end with a barebones ATMega328P. Have not had any difficulties with the chipset so far using libraries already written for the chipset. Failures with packets dropping are a function of obstacles like brick walls and also distance. These particular units work reliably within about 20 feet.I think the only thing that would make it better would be to include a reference sheet.

Product works effectively....
UPDATED: Having had a few problems with the first batch, I was well taken care of by Mfr. and now have 10 GREAT wireless communication modules! Thank you guys! 4-STARS!!!Original problem:Being that I am new to the Arduino project world I figured that when I first tried using these and the "test" sketch in the library didn't work it was because I was the dummy, so I gave up and let these modules sit in a drawer.Several months later, I started working with another model of NRF24L01 type module and with in an hour had them talking back & forth with no problem, these modules had the exact same pin foot-print as these ones did, so I did a quick swap in my project and found one in the batch that actually worked!Be sure to test ALL your modules when you get them to be sure they ALL work okay.

Fantastic little transceiver units!
I found these very easy to work with with the RF24 library and that library's code samples. I didn't have any issues whatsoever, the communication is stronger than I expected, too, going through a couple walls in my home without trouble. The only trouble I ran into was a little bit of sensitivity to heat as I was melting solder to remove the pins and re-soldering wires into the board. I managed to fry one of these by touching a component that is very near to the pins with my iron.

Good Product
The product was as advertised, I would buy this product again. I am using this product in an experiment.Delivery was fast and on time.

Radios don’t work.
Most of these modules didn’t work. I have multiple functional circuit boards to test these, the majority failed transmit and receive functions. Some were completely dead. Total junk.

Needs a capacitor
I had to wire a capacitor to + and - ends on both transmitter and receiver in order to successfully send and receive a signal. Without the capacitor, the volage drops and the transmission fails to complete.
