Great Range, pairs easily with 2 sets of earbuds.
Avantree Audikast Plus Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter for TV with Volume Control, aptX Low Latency Audio Adapter for 2 Headphones (Optical, AUX, RCA, USB), Class 1 Long Range 100ft - No Receiver Mode ASIN# B07TLHRPDP I spend a few hours each night watching TV with my Mom, her time is getting short. She is also hearing impaired. I have a Trond BT transmitter that I've been using because on the great room TV we can pair with 2 sets of earbuds at the same time. The Trond(s) work great, but the reason I purchased this Avantree, because while using the Trond (I have 3, I tried all of them) on the TV or Roku device when paired with 2 sets of earbuds, the sound on one or both pairs would stutter and cut out repeatedly after about an hour of usage. So I figured the problem was the Tronds, turns out I was wrong So when hooked up the Avantree to the CATV, Roku, DVD - the sound would begin to stutter and cut out after about an hour of usage as well. I am stating this in case anyone out there has similar issues that this might help and save you a lot of frustration. And here was the problem. My Mom listens to TV on her earbuds ALL DAY long, the MPOW’s (currently sold on Amazon as MSTHOO and Ruebitrue, best all around earbuds you can get for the money) that I had purchased for her can hold a charge for a good 6 hours or more, and she uses them for around than 14 hours total, mostly for the news during the day. So both of her sets of earbuds go through an entire charge cycle every day. I purchased these most recent ones for her in December 2021 for Xmas. The problems started around early to middle of May 2022. After ruling out everything else and a whole lot of angry frustration, I had come to realize that the batteries on the earbuds had weakened and would start to fail at about 60 to 90 minutes of usage. So I am guessing they’re good for about 100+ charge cycles or so, they still work fine on their own, but when 2 are paired on the same transmitter they begin to have issues. Even if my pair of earbuds were almost new, if one pair of earbuds out of the two was weak, it would cause both pairs to stutter. (unless the receivers on the earbuds are burning out or weakening, still a possibility) Now back to the Avantree. The range was great, I could walk all the way out to my fence outside my home which is about 50 - 60 feet away, strong and clear signal, even with 2 sets of earbuds on at the same time. (I initially thought the range in the details was exaggerated, it was not, but see above for that issue) It was very easy to pair 2 sets of earbuds, just push a button, and the second set would connect. And it has a volume control, very handy on the Roku because the volume on that is weaker than on the CATV box. (The Roku is also on a DONGJIAN audio extractor, the main TV line out is awful, I had to use the line out/Roku remote with a BT transmitter, latency was very bad, and the extractor completely eliminates all latency on this device, COMPLETELY) Unfortunately I ended sending the Avantree back, not realizing the problem was the earbuds battery, weakened by high usage. If I realized that the earbuds were the problem, I would’ve not only kept this one for the CATV, I would’ve purchased another separate one to be used for the Roku so I wouldn’t have to switch them back and forth between the 2 devices. I hope the folks over at Avantree are reading this, my humblest of apologies, this whole Bluetooth tech is brand new to me, I didn’t start using any Bluetooth devices until September of 2020. I give this Avantree 5 stars all around, and I will be getting another one quite soon. I highly recommend, especially at the price point, it is HIGHLY competitive with other transmitters of this type. I hope this helped.

I Gave It Some Patience. And It Worked Great With My Bose Headphones
This unit will work with a set of Bose Bluetooth headphones. They work perfectly, in fact! I originally bought this unit very concerned that it would not work with my mother’s Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have Bluetooth on her television. The headphones worked great on a fire cube, but I decided to go back to cable. I wasn’t sure if this would also work with my TIVO box, but because the television is wall-mounted, I thought it would be easier, as it was obvious, I would have an easier time plugging up the wires. I noticed that my TIVO box has two USB out ports, so I plugged the included USB power cord right into one of these, and the unit powered up perfectly. I then plugged up the optical cable into the back of the TIVO box as well. Because I was using an HDMI cable for both picture and sound, I didn’t need to use the TIVO optical port, it was just not being used. It was a perfect opportunity to use the included optical cable, that came with the unit. I was so pleased because all this meant that now I did not have to go behind the TV at all. The first thing that I did was to hold down the power button on my mother’s Bose headphones, in order to clear all previous pairings. I wanted to make sure there were no conflicts, besides I was only going to use these headphones with this device. Now everything was going perfectly, except for the paring of the Bose headphones. Others have complained that Bose headphones will not pear at all with this device, however, patience is the key here. I too had some difficulty and was convinced that the Bose headphones would not properly pair with the device. I was only more patient because I was used to paring the Bose headphones with my mother’s Amazon Fire Cube. It used to give me trouble when attempting to pair the Cube and the Bose headphones together. Sometimes, I would have to try several times to get them to work together. I had to wait and wait for them to finally connect. Sometimes I started over and even restarted the Cube box again to make them both work together. However, my efforts always paid off, for once they pared, they worked wonderfully. This experience taught me to be patient, and to not be too impatient when trying to pare my Bose headphones to this Avantree unit. It took a long time, and I almost gave up, when suddenly my Bose headphones informed me that a connection had been made. I was so very pleased. Now I know I can use the unit on my television as well as my TIVO BOLT. Perfect, not only that, but I can also watch TV while my 93-year-old mother continues to listen to her headphones. Because the television is connected to the TIVO BOX with an HDMI cable, the sound is being sent to both the headphones through the optical cable, and the television speakers through the HDMI cable. So, if my mom wants to watch television alone, all she has to do is turn down the volume on her television and listen quietly on her BOSE headphones with the Avantree unit. If I come into the room and want to watch Television with her, all she has to do is turn up the regular volume on her Television, so I can listen too. This was so easy to install, I was very surprised at how easy it was to get it going, all I needed was a little patience. Our house is once again quiet, for this is a great little unit. In conclusion, this unit will work with Bose Bluetooth, just be patient. This will work with TIVO, but I only mentioned TIVO in case you also have a TIVO box as I do. This is an advantage, but you don’t need a TIVO box at all to make this work, I am sure it will work perfectly on your television at home.

Works (mostly) as advertised
I say mostly since the volume rocker doesn't seem to work with how I have it configured. I'm running an optical cable from my motherboard to it. Sound quality is great and it was easy to pair to my Sennheiser Momentum 3's. I can also verify that AptX-LL works which was the primary reason why I chose this one. I wish it came with a power brick for the power cable but I have so many lying around that I can't really complain. I can't comment on the range too much but it does seem better than my old dongle transmitter that I was using even though this unit doesn't have external antennas like some of the competitors.

Don't care about bad reviews, this product is perfect.
I spent so much time to pick the right Bluetooth transmitter that I was even afraid of buying one based on all the bad reviews with 1-2 stars. However, I can't understand now how come someone have such bad experience - this product is completely flawless. My best buy of the year! I have a Hesh 2 headphone paired and it's working now for months without any issues. Initially I tried to connect it to the output of my Yamaha amp but that didn't make sense because during the day I want to use the loudspeakers and use the bluetooth headphones only at night. Instead, I configured the amp to simultaneously send output audio through HDMI to the TV (the TV is always muted) then connected the USB power and optical out from the TV to the Avantree Bluetooth transmitter and that was it! Now I can just mute the amp at night and turn on the headphones! Super quick an easy! All digital audio without any noticeable delays with my Shield TV streaming box - as I'm very sensible to that. Also, pairing with my headphones took me seconds and only had to do it once!!! On top of that its super tiny so you don't even realize it's there and the led indications are super helpful to see what's connected. I very rarely give 5 star rates but this time is totally fair. [Update after 1 year of use] I had some issues in the meanwhile but Avantree Support was super responsive. There's something to keep in mind that does not come in the manuals. One day I decided to pair my PC headphones (jabra) with the BT transmitter and totally regret it because I was not able to UNPAIR it! Tried to reset the transmitter and the headphones but it kept connecting to the headphones! The thing is, this transmitter when ever it's on, it will hijack any device in pair mode! Even if the transmitter is not pairing!!! So every time I was turning it on it out hijack my headphones since they were in pairing mode. To resolve this I had to reset everything and leave the transmitter off, then pair the headphones with the PC again and only then turn on the transmitter. Another issue I had was due to a mix of headphone's codecs. One was FS (Skull Hesh 2) and the other was LL (Sennheiser HD 450BT). When both were connected the transmitter downgrades to SBC because that's the only codec that both headphones support. However SBC is really bad for video because it introduces a big delay. The solution was to buy a second headphones with LL.

Works well
I got this to connect to a Samsung TV and wireless earbuds so I could better listen to TV while on my treadmill. I could not get it to work with the optical or RCA TV connections but it worked with the AUX connector. I first tried pairing with Aukey Key Series low latency wireless ear buds but they had a static problem so I returned those. Then I tried pairing with Avantree Clari Air low latency ear buds and that worked well -- clear sound, no static, very little lag between speech on the TV screen and what I heard. However, the Clari Air are not sweatproof and they only lasted a couple of weeks. My mistake, I did not realize sweat was an issue with ear buds. Next I tried the Avantree HS134 earbuds as they are supposed to be sweatproof. However, they are not low latency and the lag between speech on the TV screen and what I heard was too great. Gave up and instead paired the HS134 buds with my Iphone to listen to podcasts while walking/jogging. (That worked for about 3 months; those ear buds now have died, pretty sure they were killed by sweat even though they are supposed to be sweatproof.) Meanwhile, I have moved this TV transmitter to a Sony TV on the main floor of my house. It did not connect with the optical or AUX connectors, but works with RCA cables (purchased separately). I have discovered another used for this transmitter -- I will use yet another pair of wireless earbuds to listen to TV while I clean! The transmitter signal covers pretty much the whole main floor of my house and listening to TV while I clean makes a boring, boring job a little more tolerable. And I don't have to worry about sweat or lag as I don't get that sweaty while cleaning and am just listening to the TV, not watching. Overall I am happy with this transmitter, and if sweat is not an issue I recommend pairing with the Avantree Clari Air wireless earbuds. I remain in search of a pair of truly sweatproof low latency wireless earbuds to use with this transmitter while I am on the treadmill.

Great product, just a few caveats I wasn’t aware of
Original setup: Vizio TV on west wall and Bluetooth speaker on east wall in a bedroom. Having the speaker close to the head of the bed prevents the sound from being too loud. Vizio TV to Bluetooth speaker had great sound quality and no lip-sync delay. Able to raise/lower volume with TV remote. But, I have to reconnect my Bluetooth speaker every time I turn the TV on. What I was hoping to accomplish was an “always connected” connection. Added this transmitter with optical connector. Installation was a breeze. The always on connection worked great. But I lost some features I didn’t expect and I fully admit this was probably lack of knowledge on my part. I did not realize that with an optical connection I would no longer be able to use my television remote to change the volume. Since the transmitter is by the television on the west wall and the speaker is behind the bed on the east wall, it is not convenient to raise and lower the volume; I still need the ability to adjust the volume with the television remote. I also noticed a lip sync lag between the audio and video. I adjusted all of the audio settings on the TV and while it got a little bit better, it was still noticeable and distracting. I did not notice any lag with my original setup without the transmitter. I also felt the audio quality was not as good as with my original setup. And so I am returning this transmitter because these three things are more important than an “always on”connection. I’m sure I could get the exact setup I want if money wasn’t a factor but the TV is not used a lot so it’s hard to justify.

Great product. Even better support!
I love this product so much that I bought a 2nd and will soon by a 3rd. Simple to use. It just works. Once paired, if you turn it on it immediately connects. Range is impressive too. stays connected when rooms away. I bought this because my hearing is bad and need to use headphones or my hearing aid via bluetooth. One of my TVs doesnt have bluetooth and this solved that problem. I have it connected to the optical audio out of my TV. This allowed my wife to listen to the TV normally while I listen through my headphones or hearing aid (Phonak hearing aid connects via bluetooth). We also each can control our own volume independently! Sound quality is great. I have a 2nd TV that does have bluetooth but its a pain to get my hearing aid to connect. Really frustrating. So I bought a 2nd one and dont need to fight my TV anymore. I have 2 more TVs and there's likely 2 more in my future. When I got my 2nd one, I was having trouble connecting it to my hearing aid. I called the support number and got connected to someone without a wait. She was awesome and very professional. She got me connected immediately. Its one thing to make a great product and quite another to provide great support! Highly recommend this product.

Does not support USB Audio from PC anymore.
They reused the original listing but changed the product. It does not support USB audio from PC anymore. I am returning it. The one I ordered in the past, from this listing, did in fact support USB audio. There is no LED for a USB connection and Avantree confirmed it for me. I give one star for how they reused prior reviews from a different revision of the product, that is false advertisement, those are for the prior model in a very similar housing. Bad bad. Look at the attached manual on this listing, its the bluetooth 5.0 model. The model number listed here not in the manual, is for the plus that is on thier website. There is no Audikast 2 on thier website. It is a revised Audikast plus, that now does not have usb audio support anymore, sold under a bogus name on Amazon. It is the current 2024 listing on the avantree website of the plus. The FCC ID on the back of the unit will show you that. They do not appear to have any USB sound supported devices for audio from PC through USB itself, it has to be toslink or RCA, etc as of this review. The reveiws and questions are mostly for the older model so they have false reviews on a newer unit with a different bluetooth spec, lacking usb support etc. It is misleading and down right not okay. They even have thier own support saying it supports USB sound but thats the old model and it looks like this one does based on that but it doesn't. Avoid them.
