Honestly I think this should be bigger
Honestly I think this should be bigger. My child tried stuffing every toy that she could into this claw machine so that she could get them back out again. Completely if there was a larger one... I'd be all about that. I think I had more fun than the kids did.

Hours of fun
We gave this to my sons (5 and 7) for Christmas (we celebrated early due to work) and they’ve been playing with this claw machine for hours. Not an exaggeration. They’re racing, trying to get each other certain prizes, seeing who can collect the most prizes in a single scoop, etc. I purchased those little 25 cent prize dispenser type capsules (the small cup shaped ones with the flat multi-colored lids) and filled them with small candies (kisses, gum, hard candies, etc), small toys (moshi/squishy animals), and slips of paper with “rewards” on them (extra screen time, skip a chore, dinner of your choice, etc). The containers are the perfect size. I also followed the recommendations of another reviewer who gave instructions for disabling the speaker. It is INCREDIBLY loud, but very easy to disconnect. Just remove the 8 or so screws from the perimeter of the base, lift the bottom panel up, and clip the two wires running to the speaker. My wires were both yellow. And even though there were probably a dozen or more other wires, there were only 2 connected to the speaker. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and that was with a manual screwdriver. Highly recommend this machine. I could see it being a hit at a birthday party, as a reward in the classroom, or even just in your home as a fun toy.

It’s way too loud but there’s an easy fix
The media could not be loaded. I was a little weary after reading some of the mixed review but decided to give it a shot anyway since my kids have been obsessed with claw machines lately. It arrived in good condition and the only difficult part about setting it up was getting the little baggie off of the claw part within the machine, but it was doable with some patience. Just don’t pull the little twist tie all the way out until you’ve removed it because that’s what’s holding it up close to the little access door. Like other reviewers said, this thing is *obnoxiously* loud with no volume control. I attempted to put tape over the speaker on the bottom but it didn’t not help even a little, so I took another reviewers advice and removed the whole bottom of the machine and detached the two wires running to the speaker. It still works fine and lights up, and I imagine the reason the music was so loud in the first place was because the little mechanism is pretty loud on its own, with the chain moving and such. One of the coolest features the machine has is a little laser inside of the prize door, which detects if a prize is dropped before the music stops. The music gets faster and faster and if the toy drops, you get a cheer, but if the laser beam is not interrupted it does a losing “womp womp” sound instead. That doesn’t matter now that I’ve disconnected the sound. The little plastic coins work fine but do get stuck and have to be pushed through with another coin, but my son had discovered that it doesn’t need to be inserted all the way in the first place. Just put the coin in half way and it hits the little switch and activates the game. The only downside other than the loud music is that the up and down control does not have a limit, so if the crane is all the way raised and you continue to push the lever upward, it starts to lake an awful noise and I imagine that with too many times it might either break the chair or burn out the motor, so definitely something to watch if it’s being used by little kids who can’t determine when to stop holding the lever when the claw reaches its highest point. Same goes for the downward motion, if you hold it down too long the chain goes slack and had to be re-wound for a minute before it starts to elevate again. So far the claw has easily picked up bouncy balls and those tiny squishys, and I also managed to grab a snack sized candy bar once but it wasn’t easy so I took those out. I may try some gum or other little candies in there. It would be nice if the prize door had a flap in front of it, the bouncy balls go flying out if you aren’t ready to catch it.All in all I’m pleased with the purchase and know it will be a hit at my twins’ tenth birthday party tomorrow.

Broken before it was even opened...LISTEN TO REVIEWS!!
When I received this product, it looked like the box was already opened. To my surprise, I opened the box with my hands as the tape on the box was already partially removed and the toy was cracked all down the side near the controls. I did spend a minute looking over the item as it is VERY VERY cheaply made. Charged 19.95 for a gift that should be at a dollar tree because it is that cheaply made. Didn't waste my time to get batteries and try it as it was junk.It is part of a Christmas present so I need it SO I returned it and asked that a new one be sent back out. I bought it for 19.95 so I thought 20 bucks to make the Christmas gift worth it I will get a new one that is NOT opened. I received an email to let me know that instead of sending a new one they gave me my money back. Not thinking about it I was like whatever I will just buy a new one. The price has jumped to 35 bucks! I was so mad as it is not even worth the 20 bucks.I found out that Amazon can only refund money for other sellers. You get new products only if it is sold and shipped by Amazon. I went in another direction for the gift because I am not paying 30 bucks for a cheap dollar store toy.

Cheap Construction; Super Loud
First one purchased would not power on & led to a disappointing Christmas morning. Next one arrived a few days later & turned on ok; however there are no volume controls & it is WAY TOO LOUD to be placed anywhere. Kids were enjoying the machine initially but after 5 minutes they placed ear muffs on to try & soften the volume level. Fingers crossed that this toy lasts for more than a week.
