Fotodiox Flash Diffuser Dome for Canon 580EX, 580EXII, 580 EX II, Flash Speedlight

I purchased this diffuser for my YN-560, and it fits perfectly. Nice built quality product and to be honest, for the price I was expecting a flat and smooth top surface, but it actually has a nice grade diffuser surface on the top which helps to spread the light equally. I totally recommend this product! Ps: I order it with a regular shipment and it arrived at my house in one day. Perhaps I was lucky, but I thought it was nice.

These work and gets the job done if you need to diffuse/spread the flash from your speedlights. I have both the Canon 580 EX II and the YongNuo YN-565 EX and these diffuser domes are a perfect fit for both. They do take a little finagling to get them on but once they are on you can be sure they won't just pop off like some other diffuser domes I have purchased in the past. Even though it will be a tight fit, the diffuser domes in no way damages the speedlights. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Fits my 580 ex perfectly and does the job I need it to

The bugaboo for me when shooting flash, say at a charity event, is the sharp, black shadow that is cast behind the subject if there is a wall or other object nearby and behind the subject. Shooting with the flash mounted on the camera, the diffuser softens the edges of this shadow, but doesn't (obviously remove it.) Bouncing, should you be lucky enough to have an appropriate wall or ceiling, works pretty well, but we lose those engaging catch lights in the eyes of the subject. So, the diffuser works, just don't expect physics-defying miracles. It softens the light nicely, and when bounced gives a nice effect minus catch lights. For product or other still life subjects this would be fine. Or for a second flash lighting background or throwing colored light up on a background screen. Personally, I'm looking for natural-looking shots without low-end clipping (stark black background). I'm presently experimenting with LumiQuest Wedding/Event Kit LQ-134 . It's more expensive (wait for sale price or buy from Amazon Warehouse Deals), but works better for single-flash portraiture, IMHO. See my review there if you are interested.

Spreads light evenly, not bad for the price, afordable, well constructed,no hard shadows, very neutral light, simple, light, easy to carry,a must have for any photo entusiast

Got it after reading Jeniffer's review here. Ooops, too small for YN-560 that I purchased a month ago. Not sure if the size of the diffuser is inconsistent or they changed the size of the flash. 1 star is only to warn potential buyers - returning it is hardly worth the efforts/money. Had no chance to try it on Canon 580EX, though one customer couldn't fit it onto 580... will update and adjust the rating. 11-11-2011. Does NOT fit Canon 580EX either - too small. Filed a complaint, asked for replacement or refund. Don't buy from HDE! 11-25-2011. Just got from Amazon the Neewer Flash Bounce Light Diffuser for Canon 580EX II 580EXII flash speedlite for about $3 including shipment. Fits like a glove, better build, strongly recommend. The seller offered a refund but with the price of shipment back is not worth it. Should have just refunded since the description is faulty. 1-13-2012. Originally decided to let it go and write off the losses but already received 2 emails from HDE urging to change my rating with detailed instructions how to do it. They haven't move a little finger, not even bothered to change the description of the diffuser at Amazon! Not sure if they sell an old version of the diffuser that doesn't fit on newer flashes or their quality control is bad. You are taking chances with the fit but can be absolutely sure that in case of problems you'll get an awful CS. If I could, would change my rating to -2. Will contact Amazon about this seller.

I have ordered a flash diffuser for each of my flashes, and this one does the trick. I've used this on numerous occasions, and unless you need a branded product, there's no point in spending money for a diffuser that does the same job as the high-priced version. Granted, I give appreciation to those that created the product, but with my limited budget and funds, this does the trick in my camera bag. I haven't had any issues; fits snuggly and doesn't inhibit the functions of the flash what-so-ever. If you are looking for a flash diffuser, this one is a great buy. You don't have to spend $$$ for the effect that this provides.

Cheap and effective, I find these to fit perfectly on the Yongnuo 560 original (not the 560-II). They may work fine on the II, but I don't have one of those. I like to use these on the flash head when using the collapsible softbox, which doesn't have an inner baffle. This even things out quite nicely.

Great fit if a little tight for Canon 580 EX II

Bueno, bonito y barato

Not as good as the old globe I had for 20 odd years yet this design does a great job of diffusing flash.

good for the purpose decent price as well and it works

Works great. Flexible, so easy to put on. Fair price.
