333 Idioms + Phrases: For Business Including 3 Examples For Each

A very handy book, particularly for non-native speakers. It can often be seen that despite globalization leading to more and more non-native speakers knowing reasonable level of English, they often reach a big hurdle when it comes to knowing the idioms. Even for a person like me who has been a management consultant in the English speaking world for over a decade, there were many idioms in the book that I was hitherto not familiar with, e.g. "Ducks in a row", "Big cheese", etc. The writers have provided sample sentences for occasions of usage for each idiom that makes the book very useful. A few illustrations/ cartoons would have probably done wonders for the book. None the less, the authors have kept it simple and to the point.

Business English definitely has numerous idiomatic phrases and words that would be very confusing to most foreigners. Given the global business climate wherein quick emails are highly common, making sure that someone doing business with an American or a Brit doesn't misunderstand a simple idiom in an email can be extremely important.I think having two authors, representing both the UK and the USA, is an excellent idea for this handy resource of business idioms. I thought the definitions were clear, and I definitely appreciated the example sentences to demonstrate how each idiom can be used in context.As an e-book at an affordable price, I can't think of any reason not to acquire this very handy and useful reference when engaging in business in English or teaching Business English topics.

When I read English newspapers,they uses many idioms, but they often make puns of the idioms rather than using the original idiom.I really confused and so always search and bought many book to make my English a more colorful.This book suggest more than 300 idioms.. yes I know more of them, But don't know more uses of single idiom.Author not only suggest the best meaning but also the best examples-"How To Uses", And so it easily reach in our permanent memory.I highly recommended this book, not only for business but all those person who want express strong feelings with a few words.

I was expecting the book to include the derivation of each idiom phrase. It did not include.

I can see a source like this book helping out not only English as a second language speakers, but everbody who wants to improve not only their command but also their flow and colour of English. I found this super useful even though I speak English as a first langauge. I'm currently looking for something exactly like this but in German and French.

Yes, this book is simple, but I mean that in a positive way: it's not overly complicated and it gets the job done. If you are a teacher of Business English classes, or if you are a student who wants to know more about useful business lingo, then you've come to the right place. The two authors seem to work well together (one is American, the other is British, so they cover both of the most popular forms of English). I can easily recommend this book to anyone who wants to quickly improve their knowledge of business language and how to use it in the right context.

The book is not bad , some words and phrases are really helpful and some others are obsolete or useless .. but anyway every book is always a plus

Los ejemplos del libro son muy prácticos y fácil de entender. Lo recomiendo mucho. Por cierto me llegó a tiempo y en muy buen estado.
