Unrealistic
In the real world, profitability is more important than creating sophisticated models. As a structural engineer, I think it's cheaper to throw half-assed plans out the door and deal with construction administration issues as they arise. Creating, coordinating, and sharing BIM models among all team-members as described in this book is prohibitively expensive. I agree the whole construction industry is extremely wasteful, and I like the fantastical ideas presented, but contractors and software don't play nicely together, and these utopian ideals are decades away. Reading this book is like reading about interstellar travel. Fun, but unproductive. Also, what the **** does BIM stand for? All initialisms should be written out long-hand the first time they are presented. Seriously Brad and Dave wtf? Using the initialism in the title doesn't exempt you from the simple writing tools your teachers have been telling you since the fifth grade.
