Having family with allergies (especially corn allergies), I have learned that King Arthur Flour is one of the only flours I can trust to be free of byproducts or corn mixed with their flour. IT is always of fantastic quality, light, and fluffy, rarely needing to be sifted. Most importantly, though, it always works well and makes the best cakes and cookies. They also have instructions on the box and on their website to help bakers, making it very easy to use, and you always know the quality will be there. I will admit, though, that what always keeps me coming back is that it always produces the best taste in recipes. I cannot imagine using anything else. If you are worried about gluten, it is not

Quality flour yields quality products! Don’t be fooled by the slightly higher price because you absolutely get what you pay for in this department. King Arthur is the only brand of flour we use to make baked goods because it is truly a quality product that elevates the taste and texture of breads, cakes, and scones.

I have bought this from the grocery store and it is perfect for cakes. So far I have ordered it once from Amazon, who seems to have really fallen off when it comes to packaging things sensibly. They shipped a six-pack of socks in a sturdy cardboard box, and then shipped the cake flour IN A PLASTIC BAG, which arrived smashed and with flue everywhere. So just be aware that in 2026, Amazon's robots may not be yet programmed to package a box of flour intelligently.

Absolutely love this cake flour. Every cake I’ve made with it turns out soft, light, and consistently good. My banana cake especially comes out amazing with this flour, and honestly, I think my great-grandmother would probably approve, which is saying something. I also just feel better buying from King Arthur in general because they are 100% employee-owned, which I think is really cool and deserves recognition. You can tell they actually care about the quality of their products. I genuinely don’t have any complaints. Great texture, reliable results, and one of the few baking brands I consistently trust. Easy 5 out of 5.

This flour makes the softest cupcakes. I purchased this after I decided to make the King Arthur vanilla cupcake found on their website. I debated between buying this or sifting all purpose flour. Since I was making the cupcakes for a friend’s birthday I decided to follow the directions to the “t” and I do not regret it. This flour made the cupcakes sooo soft and smooth. It was a new experience for me, everyone raved about the cupcakes. I made them a second time for a baby shower and they didn’t last long. I will keep a box on hand for when I’m looking to impress.
