HIBLOW HP-80 Pond Aerator/ Septic Linear Air Pump

I bought as a replacement for our unit that went out and this was a direct replacement, easy to install and worth every penny. We tried the cheaper options as we don't have much money to work with and the cheap one failed within a year but this one is super quiet. The bugs in my video are louder and used this for our septic system. If your septic is smelling bad and u have an aerobic system this is most likely what you need. Fit perfectly and pumps a lot of air.

Easy installation. Works as expected

When we bought our house we knew nothing about septic systems. So when the 10+year old air pump went out and the septic company quoted a minimum of $500 (and probably more like $800) to replace it, I went the DIY route. I bought an inexpensive pump that had the same specs and installed it. Easy. 18 months go by and the cheap one is buzzing so loud we can hear it through our bathroom wall. So I ordered a “better” inexpensive one and installed it, but it was still very loud (76 dB-C at one foot). So I returned it and decided you get what you pay for, and ordered this one. After installing it this morning, I measured the sound at 63 dB-C … about 1/2 as loud as the cheap one. The build quality is dramatically better, so I’m expecting a very long life. Pay for quality, get quality.

Direct replacement for the old Clearstream CS103EL - It's nearly identical except a different color. Seems to be built the same way, and use all the same parts with all the same openings in the same locations. It runs very quietly. All you hear a low hum. Built pretty solid, and can be rebuilt 2-3 times with the rebuild kit where you replace the baffles inside the pump. Rebuilds are easy and take about 30 minutes. I was getting 2-3 years per rebuild in northern Illinois and the pump running 24/7 outside in an enclosure. It's a bit expensive, but it does last a long time and can be rebuilt for cheap a few times before you have to replace it. Dinged 1 star because the power cord is a bit stiff. Would be nicer if they used a better material for the cord. For my install, I needed to cut the plug off and hardwire into the Clearstream enclosure. Not hard, but if you don't know how to do this, you should ask an electrician for help.

This is a great direct replacement for our pump that went out for our septic system. Don't make the mistake that we did and almost returned this because we didn't know that the nipple for the air line was in the box and you unscrew the screw on the side and then put the nipple in and you're back in business

Great product. Works perfectly and does exactly what I needed it to do. The quality is really good, and it was easy to use right out of the box. Everything arrived in good condition and worked as expected. No issues at all so far. Definitely happy with the purchase and would recommend it. Can't be the price

One concern i had was the noise level of the pump because it was going to be beside the house under my deck . I set it up temporaly incase i had to move it away so i could sleep. As it turns out, i can't hear it in the house at all and when you're on the house deck its not really noticeable. To make things less expensive I buried pex pipe and ran it 100 ft down to the pond to connect it up with the 50 ft sinking rubber hose. I had to either take electrical to the pond edge or run sinking hose. Pex pipe was cheaper and easier. Happy with it so far. The one thing that didn't match up was the bubbler ¼ nipple. The id of the hose is ⅜. I pipe clamped it tight and it leaked a bit but worked. The Aqua lung does put out a good pattern and moves a lot of water.

Excellent product and has been working perfect for two years
