Superb
I recently bought a Tenor Saxophone, having been playing alto for about 7 months. The neck strap that came with tenor was okay, but I found my neck ached after about 1/2 an hour. I saw this recommended on a website, and it's considerably cheaper than an equivalent product sold by the big London Sax shop. I've had mine about a week now and love it. I no longer get neck ache, indeed the Sax feels almost weightless, it's that effective. When mine arrived I was a little concerned it might be too small. I'm 6' 1" and of average weight. But for me it's a perfect fit. I believe mine said "medium" on the box, but there is a larger size for taller people. It also works with my alto as well. Unfortunately I threw the box away before I wrote this review, so that is my recollection. Although I'm pretty sure. The straps that fit over your shoulders can be adjusted and are very strong. I've had no issues with comfort since I've had the product and I'm able to practise for a lot longer now. Highly recommended.

Use whilst sitting problematic
Good piece of kit. Well made. Easy to put on and off. Distributes the weight of the saxophone to the shoulders and away from the neck. All good so far. For me I found it ok standing and sitting with an alto. Problematic playing my tenor. I play by preference to the side not in front of me. So only 4 out of 5 stars in my case.

Neck problems solved with this great device.
After recurring neck problems with my old sling, this is a great improvement and easy to use. I play both standing and sitting and the sling is just as comfortable in either position. I don't find that the shoulder parts dig in either. You still have to support the weight of the tenor sax on the shoulder for potentially long periods, so some discomfort after a long session is to be expected, but it is short lived. I had to put the longer cord in and that straightforward, although the diagrams provided were on the small side to see detail. All in all a great product.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
Very happy with this. Easy to put on and take off and makes my tenor sax feel much lighter and more comfortable when playing for any length of time. At first I was irritated that, when folded up, it didn't fit in the pocket of my carry case but then I realised that all I needed to do was to rotate the little pad on the vertical support (abdominal plate as they call it) and it fitted.

Might Work For You
I am replacing an old Neotech Soft Sax Strap which is mostly used for playing tenor. I was attracted to this following a positive review of an earlier version of the Sax Holder by Jay Metcalfe of Bettersax. Ordinary sax straps place all the instrument weight on the back of the neck whereas this distributes the instrument weight mostly across the shoulders and less so the upper abdomen. The shoulder parts are intended to be slightly bent to fit your body shape and the lower abdomen pad support slides up and down to best suit where you want it, although the pad will not rotate as on the earlier version. I found that the shoulder parts are fairly rigid and were quite difficult to bend and some people might struggle to do this, although when bent into place wouldn't move out of shape. Anyway it did take me a long time to get it set up. As far as comfort is concerned it is a completely different experience to a strap and with my tenor it certainly took the weight off my neck but just seemed to transfer all that to my shoulders, and also dug in a bit at the back. And it might take a while to get used to it, in that it seemed quite restrictive, especially when taking in a big breath of air. Otherwise the clip works well and the hook adjustment cord stays in place, and it appears well made. Finally I might have kept it but after I had set it up something didn't seem quite right with it and on close inspection I found that one of the shoulder parts would not securely lock into place in the holder and was fairly loose when in position, so whether I had received a previous Amazon return or it was always faulty out of the factory or damaged in transit I have no idea. The box was also ripped on receipt. Anyway I have returned it and decided to look elsewhere, although for some it might ideal.
