This is a workhorse of a grinder, 124 in-lbs of torque.
If you want a grinder that will grind, no questions asked, this is the one for you. The soft start keeps the grinder from torquing around when the grinder starts. 124 in-lbs of torque is what makes it a workhorse. Not only does it start smooth, but it also stops in less than 3 seconds. This is a great fender grinder.Others have committed on the fact that there is no backing plate or nut. Well, the grinder does not come with a backing plate or nut, so order them when you order the grinder. But the grinder is definitely worth the money. Even when buying the backing plate and nut separately.There are two features that we have not seen in use that should be mentioned. The "Electronic safety shutdown reduces kickback if the disc stops unexpectedly" is one of the reasons (along with the 124 in-lbs) we purchased this grinder. With the high torque of the grinder, this feature is needed. The "LED signal indicates triggered restart protection or overheating" will keep the operator from guessing why the grinder has stopped working. We have used this grinder hours nonstop and have not overheated (yet).We have other Metabo tools in our facility that have been trouble free for over 20 years. We are a fabricator, and the grinder is used daily. We have high standards, and this grinder is the best we have ever had.

Defective equipment
Hello everyone, I’m an old metano customer and have been using your equipments for a long time. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago someone broke into my storage and stolen most of my tools. So I went to Amazon and bought a brand new 7” Angle Grinder 8450 rpm - 15 Amp.I’ve never had problem with this one before, but at this time on the first day of use I could notice that the engine motor rotation seems stucked, and it’s heating too fast.This specific one has a thermostat that stop the equipment working (my last one didn’t have this device…)So with all my experience with metano angle grinders, I can’t tell you that it’s not working properly.It was bought 1 week ago on May 30th and a asurion protection plan was added on it.I would be glad to hear something back from you guys.Thanks.
