Replacement Solenoid 24VAC Encapsulated Plunger for Irritrol, Richdel, Lawn Genie, Hardie, RainJet & Hit

Worked great, exactly what I wanted. Very easy to install.

Purchased to replace an almost 40 year old Richdel solenoid on an R-204AT valve that had rusted out. Has a circular plunger (as pictured) vs the hex shaped plunger of the old solenoid. Also has a black retaining washer. Nevertheless it fit the old valve with no modification. Inrush current 0.35 amps, holding current 0.23 amps. Tested and works great.

One of the multiples of these I purchased did not quite fit as nicely as the others, but a little Teflon tape did the trick. Otherwise works as advertised.

This was a perfect replacement for the 45 year old solenoids on two of my Richdel R-204 valves. Some have mentioned that the new solenoid needs to be modified a bit to fit. I did not find this to be the case. Note that the old solenoids have a separate o-ring that seals the solenoid to the valve; when the solenoid is removed you will see this o-ring sitting in the valve body. Remove this o-ring - it is not needed because the new solenoids have an integrated o-ring. After removing the old o-ring from the valve, this solenoid is a perfect fit with no modification required.

I bought two selenoids to replace the ones on the valves for my back yard sprinklers. When I replaced them, and turned the water on, the sprinklers turned on and would not go off. I tried to purchase the correct ones for my sprinkler brands so was disappointed they didn’t work correctly. But, since user error was a real possibility, I sent an email to Jamie, whose email was on the letter in the package, asking for help. I got a quick response and a simple solution. My sprinklers are now back up and running with the selenoids I purchased. I can’t thank Jamie enough for helping me out. Thank you!

--is larger than factory solenoid. I'm using it on a Irritol valve and the on/off lever has to be removed.

This is a gabage and never work. Created problems. I put it it opens all the time and mess up whole system. I tried to return but this company guy send me message that he changed over 100 units but I did tried again to waste my time and labor. It created same problem. I changed wirhOrbit Underground 57041 24 Volt Solenoid. It works like charm and never problem with much cheaper price. Never buy this gabbage.

I have four Richdel valves in my sprinkler manifold that were literally rusting apart, although only 1 had actually quit working. It suspect they were original to 1984! These replacements threaded right into place.They had plenty of lead-length to wire them up neatly. They have been in and working a couple of months now. They were more expensive than I expected, but I have no complaints about fit/function. They look well sealed-up, hope they last a long time.
