I am actually using this to secure usb cables on a custom car dash. I needed to ensure that no accidental deconnection of cables occured. Yes, I could probably design and/or machine something similar on my own, but that would entail several hours of work, hence, this purchase paid for itself immediately upon placing my order.

Today's DSLRs with tiny HDMI and other I/O ports are vulnerable to tug damage, this device is a professional way to hold cables and prevent pulling. Just be careful not to over tighten. You need a cage or similar place to mount this. I think it's a good investment overall, given the likely cost and inconvenience of repairing today's small-form cameras.

It gives me a piece of mind that the cable won't come out of the handgrip. It's very secure and a quick and easy install all over the cage.

I was unsure if this little device would answer my problems of all my cables drooping and potentially damaging my camera inputs. After finding an ideal location to attach this to my smallrig cage and proper routing I can't go back! I create a small loop and then back down through this clamp. Now there is no tension in the camera inputs.If you have any cables you need to secure coming out of your camera this is a small price to pay for piece of mind.

I do a lot of filming with my Ronin M gimbal. And those who shoot with it know even the slightest change can throw off the balance. Being a one man crew with a gimbal and having to capture audio was very difficult. But the cable clamp allowed me to organized all cables into one or two central locations and hold them in place, therefore not tugging or pulling my balance out of alignment. It's an absolute must have!

I use my camera as a webcam during the workday. This holds the HDMI cable so it doesn't disconnect in the middle of a video call. It also positions the dummy battery cable so it is out of the way. I had problems with this setup before getting the cable clamp, but now everything works perfectly all the time.
