I own one of these but it is 5.75” wide and approximately 8” tall (with too flap folded down). It’s about the 16th to an 8th of an inch thick with nothing in it. I am able to put my iPhone in it. The dimensions in your question are not for the model that I own, but the picture looks like the item that I have.
